Only this time, proposal gets majority of 'yes' votes in wake of 'Spygate'

The vote was 25-7 in favor ? 24 yes votes were required. Voting against the measure were Seattle (Mike Holmgren), Tampa Bay (Jon Gruden), Oakland (Lane Kiffin), Philadelphia (Andy Reid), St. Louis (Scott Linehan), Washington (Jim Zorn) and Green Bay (McCarthy)....

Areas were team needs to upgrade in order to take next step

Players Added

Brandon Chillar/LB - General Manager Ted Thompson and the Packers smartly use the draft to build their team and use free agency to supplement the roster - not the other way around. With that said, Chillar will compete against SLB Brady Poppinga for the starting job. That linebacker position is clearly one that the coaches would like to see improvement.....

What are the Green Bay Packers biggest needs? Read on to see how the upcoming NFL draft can help the Packers

The team's most pressing concern in the days before the draft later this month is to get a quarterback on board to serve as Aaron Rodgers' backup after the retirement of Brett Favre. GM Ted Thompson seems inclined to add a veteran for that role, rather than wait on taking a prospect in the draft.
Come draft weekend in late April, the Packers will be in solid position to upgrade the depth at cornerback, tight end and on the offensive line with three picks in the first 60 selections.
1. Cornerback: With age creeping up on Pro Bowlers Al Harris, 33, and Charles Woodson, 31, and no surefire young replacements in reserve...........

Packer Report's Bob Fox continues his Packers pre-draft series by offering a list of offensive linemen that may fit well into Green Bay's zone-blocking scheme

The Green Bay Packers will look for ways to add more quality depth to their offensive line and also try to find a starter perhaps at the guard position in the 2008 draft. Steady veterans Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton return at tackle, but the team wants to know that they will have somebody to step in case of injury, or if age starts to catch up with dynamic duo........

Green Bay expected to select a defensive tackle or end to bolster depth

The Green Bay Packers are pretty deep across the defensive line. But you can never have enough defensive linemen. Just look at the New York Giants and the Lombardi Trophy they now have from 2007.
At defensive end, the Packers have Pro Bowler Aaron Kampman and his 12 sacks on one side and Cullen Jenkins on the other....
