Aaron Rodgers told the media at the team's annual Fan Fest that he embraces the opportunity to follow Brett Favre as quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. Matt Tevsh was at Rodgers' press conference Saturday and offers his thoughts

This weekend marked the start of sorts for the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay. No, the Green Bay Packers were not playing, practicing, or even preparing. They were hosting their annual two-day Fan Fest at Lambeau Field, and the spotlight guest on hand was Rodgers, making his first public appearance since Brett Favre officially retired........

The timing of Brett Favre's retirement announcement could not have come at a better time for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, says PackerReport.com's Todd Korth....

Scout.com: Rodgers ready to pick up where Favre left off

Will he really be ready? He has had almost no game experience in the years he has been with the Pack.

I am a huge Packers fan but a little worried by the prospects for next year.

you and me both apache. i like the pieces that are around him but it all starts with the qb. can he handle being the man in the spotlight? i sure as hell hope so or the nfl will be even that much less appealing to me. i love the packers but it would suck if they fell back into what they were in the 70's and 80's where an occasional 8-8 season was a success. *shudder*

Free agent wide receiver Tab Perry also visited Packers headquarters on Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Perry is an unrestricted free agent, and probably valued for his ability to return kickoffs. He averaged 24.4 yards per return as a rookie in 2005 with the Bengals.....
