by Tom Fanning, Packers.com

As the Packers have strengthened their roster the past few seasons on the way to a 13-3 campaign in 2007, the number of roster spots up for grabs has diminished each year. One position that will see competition this season is long snapper, where rookie J.J. Jansen will be vying for the job come training camp....

Bush Hopes Versatility Will Pay Dividends

As the expression goes, "the more you can do..."

For Packers cornerback Jarrett Bush, that has meant taking some snaps at safety this offseason. After serving as the team's primary nickel back and one of the key members of the special teams coverage units last season, he hopes the versatility he can bring will allow him to contribute even more in '08.

The Packers were so strong at defensive tackle last season that first-round pick Justin Harrell played in only two of the first 11 games.

The trenches are a physical place, though, and the Packers? strength in numbers was eroded as the season progressed. While the Packers ranked 11th in the league by yielding only 3.9 yards per rush, the before and after was striking. Through nine games, the Packers yielded 92.9 rushing yards per game. In the final seven games, they allowed 115.9 rushing yards per game.
