Did you notice?
When the defense went to its nickel package in a team drill, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila came in to play defensive end and Cullen Jenkins moved inside to tackle. Tramon Williams was the third cornerback alongside starters Al Harris and Charles Woodson.

Ruvell Martin took a few reps as a holder for long snapper Thomas Gafford during a field goal drill. Regular holder Jon Ryan held when J.J. Jansen took his snaps.

Notes From Wednesday's Morning Practice
July 30, 2008, 12:01 pm

Did you notice?
The special teams unit practiced run-on field goals, where the offense has to rush off the field and the field-goal unit must hurry on to line up for a last-second kick. Mason Crosby made 5 of 7 field goals during the exercise, all from roughly 40 yards out. One of his misses might have been the result of a bobbled snap by backup holder Ruvell Martin.

The team did quite a bit of work in the red zone on Wednesday evening. Head Coach Mike McCarthy said he was pleased with the offense's performance on first and second down in the first period but was not as happy with the work in the red-zone blitz portion with two false starts.

Also, an injury update and a potpourri of quick hits from Wednesday night

A day off is coming at a good time for the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers engaged in a spirited and hard-hitting practice on a warm and humid Wednesday night. ?It was one of those practices where the offense got after the defense and the defense got after the offense,? coach Mike McCarthy said....

The retards calling this Packers - Bucs game just referred back to A.J. Hawk's time at Florida State. On the very same play, Charles Woodson breaks up a pass for Maurice Stovall. Apparently the defensive play was ironic because Woodson and Stovall won a national chamionshp together at Michigan in 1997.

Great job.

I can't defend the A.J. Hawk comment but I'm pretty sure what they were referring to on the Woodson pick was that Woodson and Griese, the QB who he picked off, won a national title in '97.
