He was one of the leading voices against the war in Vietnam in the late 60's early 70's. Held demonstrations out of his hotel in Europe where all of the worlds press covered the events (he and Yoko naked in bed). Made anti war movies and was a general peace activist that was HUGE in influancing people. To say that Lennon was a flash in the pan pop star is an insult to one of the greatist men and thinkers of the 60's.
