This generation would have to be < than 45. Paul Neuman is the greatist of all time, and he be dead.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman is damn good. Not a huge name, but he does some great shit. Watch Charlie Wilsons War currently plaing on HBO. He was awesome in Capote, Boogie Nights and Lebowski.

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was Johnny Depp.

His work on 21 Jump Street is unparalleled.

Seriously though, Depp is amazing.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Daniel Day Lewis are also solid contenders.

Surprised that Mr Cruise's name has not popped up. He's a wack job but has played in some good movies.

I did not want to throw a whole bunch of names to start the thread. But the list is a good one. There is some serious talent currently.

There was a time when Robert Downey was going to be the chosen one. Less than Zero, Chaplin. He has made a nice come back, but still is not on the list IMO.

I would agree with every name except for Pitt. I like him and most of his movies, but don't think that he has near the range of the other three.

You know I thought that also. But then I looked at what he has been in, and they are some of my favorite movies. He is too pretty and looks like a poser. Even taking that into account, he has done some great work. Oceans 11. Fight Club. True Romance. Not the ilk of Dicaprio, Norton or Depp. But still damn good. Fight Club put him on my list. I love that movie.
