I know this has been repeated ad nauseum, but how can a guy not adjust his defense when TT is shredding them at the end of the game? To stay in that 3 rush prevent was absurd. (I know, preaching to the choir). I just saw no evidence of coaching when it was really needed. And that lost-in-the-clouds smirk he had on his face just made him look utterly clueless.

I just don't get it...

I suspect that's as much to do with the proliferation of low level bowls over the years. Roughly half of all teams go bowling now, and it only takes a .500 winning percentage. Not hard to get on a preseason diet of cupcakes and I-AA teams (you're allowed to use one victory over I-AA in your winning percentage calc.).

He's probably better than some they've had, but they'll never be better than they are now as long as he was hanging around. I am SO happy we didn't bring him here. His game management reminds me of Coop - Few or no adjustments.

It's not that hard to do. Load up with 4 OOC cupcakes and beat the Big-10 bottom dwellers(Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois) with an upset or two.

Mason sure has his shortcomings, but what caliber of coach wants that job? Their football atmosphere is quite lame.

I wouldn't count on beating IN or ILL consistently in the future.

There have been plenty of bowl games for so-so teams since before Mason was in Minn. They didn't go to any of them then. They've had some pretty damn good RB's, and a couple of solid teams (remember when they beat tOSU at The 'Shoe :wink2:). All of wich hadn't been the case up there for some time (50's maybe?) before Mason.
