this may be hard for you to believe or understand but i'll explain this as best as possible i can, when we moved into our house we ordered americast cable(sp?) about 5 years ago, then we found out that insight cable was already running into the house free(we hadn't ordered it!) so as soon as we figured this out we cancelled americast and now we just use the "free" cable were getting, i don't know if insight forgot to turn the cable off or if its a error in their system, but after telling you that calling insight would not be the choice, but my grandma who lives about 4 miles down the road has insight and ABC is totally clear, we also have this problem with TBS at times, btw this problem with ABC started like 2 or 3 years ago out of nowhere
Get an amp or check the connections to make sure there isnt any outdated coax. My house had 30 yr old coax so insight replaced it for me and it helped my hd reception as well as my RR stability. You might want to try paying for the service before you start bitching about the service you are stealing, though.

hey i didn't say i went up to the pole and connected it myself, it is insight's fault, there are the one's that either didn't turn it off before or have the error on their part, so i don't know how it's "stealing", its their fault, your telling me if you had free cable running into your house you wouldn't use

plus we had a amp on it before and it was too powerfull and made the picture bad, this however was before ABC looked bad, however its not like all of the channels are like this, just ABC and at time TBS, but about the cable, you think putting in a newer cable will help

A haven't read every post on this thread so this may have been pointed out earlier but the closest (other than the HI on the Lane) is the Red Roof Inn at Ackerman and the river road.

I'm staying there 3 times this season, and have stayed there every game for years. The location is good, the room is good enough and you can walk anywere you wanna go on/near campus.

You should get excellent reception of ABC there. Just get some bunny ears and move 'em around!

i'll ask my dad if he'll hook that up when he gets home from work, see how it looks, if in the end it still looks like shit, i'll just tape it over at my grandma and grandpa's house, they get a good ABC picture there

I call it stealing... You are using a service you arent paying for. Its not like you dont know and your acknowledgement of having the service makes you morally responsible for it. Thats my take.

But its your consience so its none of my business.

In any event, if you want a better picture, you should try the suggestions about newer cable and possibly new spitters if you have any.

LongHorns Make First Visit to Ohio Stadium
By John Porentas

Mack Brown and his Texas Longhorns got their first look at Ohio Stadium on Friday. Brown said all the right things after the walk through.

"It's a great place with a tremendous amount of tradition. I told our guys when Texas plays Ohio State it's about history, it's about the class of the two programs, it's about two storied traditions, they have great respect for what's been done here and what's being done here now. They have great respect for Ohio State, and I think that's what makes the game special. We've got Coach Royal here with us and the memory of Coach Hayes will be unveiled here at half time. How neat is that?" Brown said.

"I've never been here before. When I walk out here it's seeing history as well," said Brown.

"I told the guys it's a beautiful place, it will be full of people who don't like us, and understand that. It will be really loud. How neat is that? And what a great challenge is that for us to play in."

Brown seemed to waffle a bit on his opinion on whether Ohio Stadium would make a difference in the game. At first, he seemed to think not.

"Kids and coaches are not aware of fans after you start the game," said Brown.

"The guys talked about the Rose Bowl.

"You were aware driving up, then you were aware on the DVD when you watched the game afterwards, but during the game you're focused.

"Our guys have played before large crowds before. It's loud, and that's what we expect," said Brown.

Brown then seemed to make a bit of an about-face.

"Good for the Ohio State fans, good for them that they've made this a tough place to play," he said in the next breath.

"Austin is tough place to play. When you coach at one of the best schools in the country like Texas, like Ohio State, your place should be a hard place to play."

Brown was clear on one issue. He thinks this will be a competitive game, the kind of game that not only fans can enjoy, but the participants as well.

"I know this will be a tough ball game, it will be a fourth-quarter game and you have do a great job coaching, but this is fun for coaches. You coach at Youngstown State and Appalachian so you can have days like this," said Brown.

It's a big game that will be front-and-center on the national stage.

"It's fun for college football. In my opinion right now we're talking too much about the end result and not enjoying the season as much.

"By the nature of the publicity of this one all week it has everybody stirred up, and that's a good thing. It's given great publicity to both institutions all week and it's probably something that more people will look at now.

"It was something that I was not in favor of, I thought it was stupid when we did it. Obviously one of us will lose the game tomorrow night and that will put that team in a tougher spot than if they were playing a team that you can just line up and beat, but I do think it's good for college football."

Unlike Jim Tressel, Brown had no trouble announcing who his starting quarterback will be, but said he understands why Tressel has been mum on that subject this week.

"Vince Young is starting for us and I haven't really thought about who will start for them," said Brown.

"I think it's probably smart of Jim (not to reveal his starter) and it does give them an advantage. We've done that before. They are different kinds of quarterbacks, they both have winning records.

"I think it's an advantage that we don't know which one is going to play, but it's more of an advantage that they're both really, really good."
