I dont think they will make much of a difference and as said before, they will be lost in a seas of Scareltt and Grey (see below). I expect around 9000 Texas fans though.

Hey Guys how about this for a classic shot of 'The Shoe':

I'll be surprised if Texas fans crack the 10k mark. I doubt that there were 10k tickets total being on EBay, etc., and even so you know more than half would be bought by OSU fans simply because it would be cheaper for them to get to the game with it being at The Shoe, so that would be under 5k tickets to Texas fans. Texas fans will number around 7k-9k I would think. Even if they do get 10k in there, we'll have 95k-96k of us in there, so we'll still generate a shit-load of noise...

I'd be very leary of any more tickets on EBay or any other auction site...how are they supposed to get the tickets to you when the game is less than three days away?

That's the reason I'm avoiding the tickets that are in Colorado. The one that I'm going to bid on are in Columbus, and offers free overnight shipping or, for local buyers, a cash/check payment for the tickets in person is accepted. I emailed the sellers of every package I was interested in to try to arrange an in person meeting with a cash and ticket exchange in order to make sure I don't get screwed, and although a couple others agreed to it, this is the first time I've seen a seller state in the auction itself that they'll accept that as a payment method. This is also an established seller with 100% feedback, so I'm confident in his legitimacy. At this point, the only way I'll pay for tickets is in person when I get the tickets. Thanks for the advice though-it's definitely appreciated.

So now, not only will the 'Shoe not have any effect on the game...but now Texas fans are going to overrun Ohio Stadium and turn our home field against us.

I swear that Texas fans are sure they invented football and are the "end all" of any relevant conversation regarding it.

That said, the UT WR corps was very deep. We had Roy Williams, BJ Johnson and Sloan Thomas. Roy Williams was a 1st round pick (top 10); Sloan was drafted and both Sloan and BJ have been off and on NFL rosters. I would say that is deep.

None of them are playing Saturday night. :roll1:

You know, I'm thinking more and more that this is going to be like the Kansas State game, where Jenkins and Holmes went off...if Krenzel didn't miss two wide open TD passes, we would've rang up 49 on them. Now, we don't have Jenkins but we have Ginn and still have Holmes (and a much more experienced Holmes at that). Zwick looked pretty good against Miami and should be very confident Saturday, and I can't wait to see what Troy Smith has in store for Texas when he gets on the field...

So... I just got a copy of TBDBITL's new CD (I highly suggest you get it)... and there's a nice rendition of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. As the Texans (on other sites, mostly) are so fond of calling us Yankees, I've decided that this song will be my anthem for the rest of the week. It is, after all, the ultimate "northerners are about to kick some southern ass" song. :)

I have been thinking about that myself. It could top 10k. Lots of tickets on ebay, but a good share of those have gone to OSU fans as well. Up to about 20 minutes before the game Texas will think they own the place and dominate the noise. But by the time the band comes in the place will be full and Texas will have to be very organized to be heard. Kick our ass and it will get quiet. Not gonna happen.
I dunno. tOSU fans are usually pretty quiet until the band comes out on the field. BUT...I think this game is different. I think the "let's go bucks" chants will start early and often. I plan to start one if nobody else does. I think there won't be more Texas fans than there is to any scUM game. It's gonna be loud. I have a feeling it will be the loudest game in tOSU history. I was at '95 Notre Dame, and 2002 PSU, and those were the loudest i've been to. This could top it. The night factor gets everybody rowdy.

Heres CFBNews.com take on the game this weekend (note that they were right on all of the Big Ten games last week):

CFBNews.com

Big Ten Game of the Week
Sat Sept. 10
Texas at Ohio State ABC 8:00 PM

Why to watch: It's Texas and Ohio State in a matchup good enough to be the Rose Bowl. It's Ted Ginn Jr. and Vince Young in a primetime Heisman showcase. Finally, after all of the hype and all of the anticipation, one of the biggest non-conference regular season games of all time is here as Texas and Ohio State square off for the first time in the history of the two storied programs. It's only week two, but the superpower that loses this game is likely out of the national title hunt, while the winner will likely be cemented in the No. 2 spot in all the polls. Ohio State did its part by thumping a good Miami University team last week while Texas destroyed UL Lafayette. The two teams can finally concentrate on what they've been wanting for focus on for the last nine months. Hopefully, the game is half as good as the buildup.

Why Texas might win: Ohio State's lines are good, and a lot better than they were at the beginning of last year, but are they good enough to play with the Texas lines for a full sixty minutes? The Longhorns are loaded on both sides with the experience and beef to get the power running game going on offense, and the NFL talent on defense to stuff anything Ohio State tries to do with its ground game. Despite Antonio Pittman and the Buckeye running attack looking decent against Miami University, the passing game has to beat Texas. Will the Buckeye quarterbacks get the time to throw, and will they be able to make plays under the certain pressure that's about to come? No on the first, and the jury is out on the second. Santonio Holmes and Ted Ginn Jr. might be the best 1-2 receiving punch in the nation, but the Texas secondary is almost as athletic and good enough to make plays if the Buckeye quarterbacks aren't sharp.

Why Ohio State might win: You beat great rushing quarterbacks by having a fast and athletic defensive back seven. Vince Young is fast, but so is A.J. Hawk. So is Bobby Carpenter. So are the Buckeye defensive backs that aren't going to let Young run wild like Michigan did in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State didn't give Texas a great look at its D against Miami using a lot of three man fronts, but you can bet the Buckeyes will load up the line and make Young try to win through the air. If Young can't soften up the D a little bit, it'll be a very, very long night.

Who to watch: Obviously Vince Young gets all the attention for Texas, but the Longhorns can't win if their running backs aren't rolling. Selvin Young, despite an ankle injury, is still the starter, but the Longhorns need all their rushing weapons to have a chance. The current buzz is over freshmen Jamaal Charles and Henry Melton, who looked strong combining for 200 yards and three touchdowns against UL Lafayette, but they had problems hanging on to the ball. For Ohio State, the big question mark remains at quarterback where Troy Smith is back from suspension and looking to take back the starting job. Justin Zwick had a nice game against Miami University spreading his throws around and making good reads and decisions, and appears to have settled down enough to be a steady and consistent passer. Look for both to see time to give the Longhorns a variety of looks.

What will happen: Call this a home field pick. In front of 105,000 people in primetime, Ohio State isn't going to let down at home with Young having problems with the noise and the crowd. The Buckeye linebackers will also be too much for Young, but Texas will give it a great run with its underrated defense forcing Ohio State to kick more field goals than it would like.

CFN Prediction:
Ohio State 19 ... Texas 17 ... Line: Pick | Make your pick and compete against others
Must See Rating:
(5 lock yourself in a room to watch - 1 Must Love Dogs) ... 5

What is B-deck like?

I am 18 rows up about even with the goal line.

I'm afraid of missing out on the whole "Shoe experience" with the C-deck overhang covering up everything except the field. Is it that bad?

Stupid me. I got the tickets thinking B seats were the bottom rows of the second deck.

B-deck is awesome if it's cold or rainy.

Alot of B-deck seats can't see the main scoreboard or the smaller one at the closed end.

B-deck sucks if you sit behind a pillar like I did my freshman year.

I'll trade ya seats though. I'll sit in B-deck, and you can have my couch. :tongue2:

Expect to be leaning side to side like you are on one of those fake roller coaster rides at epcot. More likely than not there will be a pole in your view of some part of the feild. Good thing is that they hang tv's under c deck so you can watch what you miss.
