Game Thread Game Two: Texas 25, Ohio State 22 (final)

Kerr was ahead of Terry last week as well.

Anybody know what type of injury Freeman has? He was in last week, but not even for a cup of coffee.

Not sure what message they are trying to send with O'Neal listed as the nickel, but that is what it said last week and Mitchell played the position almost the entire game.

Let's see if we can stand up to the challenged of NOT turning this thread into another Zwick vs Smith discussion.

I wouldnt say that...yet, but I would say that this new group does not possess the same communication skills as our already establish group of Longhorns.

Its cool though, one is already banned for trolling and the others will discuss with reason or follow.

"Communication skills" must be defined as complete acquiescence to Buckeye superiority. I mean seriously, I'm not "discussing with reason," but this is?

our linebackers kills your linebackers, our secondary kills your secondary, get over it. our team speed is much greater than yours, get over it. the horseshoe is far superior than arkansas stadium(thats an understatement) vince young couldnt hit a barn with a football.

Save yourself the trouble of a ban. I've seen enough here already.

EDIT: Then let's just make it official.:ban:

they just showed melton that freshman running back everyone thinks is great and wow, i hope he carries the ball every down against us, he moves so slow and just slowly weaves through the line of scrimmage like hes walking, give him the damn ball.

I am kind of back and forth on what klind of QB I want for this offense. Yes, dual threat QB's are nice.... but who is the better passer between Smith/Zwick. Zwick showed some mobility Saturday and in the spread offense, imo, a QB that can get the ball to the open WR is all we need. Then again, if Smith is the better passer, than that + his feet is obivously our best option.

It has been said on Scarlet and Gray News that Freeman is out until Iowa with a Menisus tear in the knee.

... But if you think they are fast enough on the field to catch Vince Young, you'll be another in a long line of opposing fanbases to be shocked at what you see Saturday. He will make your linebackers look stupid...

No QB has done that yet under the Tressel regime, and we've faced QBs who are arguably as mobile as Young (Joshua Cribbs, Josh Harris, El Roberson) and contained them...and all three are better passers than Young.

I was a little surprised to see Laurinaitis in the game on Saturday, and even more surprised to see him listed as backing up Carpenter against UT. Granted, Freeman's injury has something to do with that, and granted, Laurinaitis had about 800 tackles last year in high school, but he wasn't one of the guys whose name seemed to be mentioned a lot in press briefings. He must have been pretty impressive in camp, and the coaches kept it a little bit of a secret.

Before I looked at the posts in this thread, I knew exactly what I was going to see: a contest to see whose schlong swings lowest.

Basically that sums it up. Its been happening for months, but somehow you and the other guys who have been here do it with a different level of class.

We can fight like dogs, but there is still mutual respect in the posts.

Miami has 8 guys who were 4 star recruits out of school? I doubt that.

What scarletngrey77 said. Keep thumpin' your chest on stats and recruiting rankings, and then see who gets drafted into the NFL. You know when the last Texas WR was drafted? It was 1999 (McGarity). Miami had one drafted in 2000 (Gaylor). Both Nance and Robinson are considered pro prospects...how many does Texas have? None.
