Just to put it in the thread to make it easier to duscuss:

A big "OR' in the QB spot - and Laurinaitis instead of the injured Freeman are what I noticed right away.

edit - also looks like Kerr moved ahead of Terry at the Will.

Yeah, I've heard that already. Look, I'm not trying to disparage your linebackers. It's the top unit in the country heading into the season. But if you think they are fast enough on the field to catch Vince Young, you'll be another in a long line of opposing fanbases to be shocked at what you see Saturday. He will make your linebackers look stupid. I've already picked OSU to win, but many on this board think it will be a cakewalk. In fact, as much as you compare Texas fans to Miami's before the 2002 championship game, a closer look will confirm that it is in fact the OSU fans who are taking Miami's "we're better athletes and can't possibly lose to an inferior Texas team" stance. Much like OSU in 2002, we're going to go into this one with a power rushing attack and a defense that is much better than you think it is, and we plan on leaving with a big win.

D00d, you might want to get off your knees and let Vince go practice, he is going to need to work. :shake:

Unlike the OSU vs Miami 2002 parallel you are trying to draw you are also coming in here with a coach well known for not getting it done in big games or against good teams.

Actually, I think it's more fair to say that Mack Brown is well known for not getting it done against Oklahoma. Since 2000, his record in games not involving the Sooners is 53-6 (almost 90 percent). His record in road games (that is, the other guy's stadium, not a neutral site) is 21-2 overall and 3-0 in road games at ranked teams.

All the better, make Texas have to prepare for both. If Zwick doesn't play the majority of the game I will be surprised. Tressel may go with a dual quarterback system that was rumored to be in the works, for all I know. Wouldn't it surprise everyone if they were both on the field at the same time in various situations. Definitely don't expect to see him play much of Smith, unless Zwick struggles.

he's not going on the road to beat up on a B12 patsy.

-Here are the 4 times since 1998 that UT has gone on the road for an OOC game vs a BCS school and the results(opp final record):

1998: L 31-49 @ UCLA (10-2)
2000: L 24-27 @ Stanford (5-6)
2002: W 52-21 @ UNC (3-9)
2004: W 22-20 @ Arkansas (5-6)

<O:p</O:p
<O:pForgive me if I'm not impressed.</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:pAlso if you look at that 2-13 record vs AP top 10 teams i showed you earleir you can back out 5 for his inability to beat OU. Thats still a 2-8 record vs teams that finished the season ranked in the top 10.</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:pAgain, forgive me if I'm not impressed.</O:p

Well, like I said earlier, Tressel better win this game. I'm sure your fanbase won't tolerate losing to such a hopelessly overmatched opponent.
