Justin Zwick had an excellent game today except for one decision. He was crisp and got the ball in the hands of the playmakers.

Is he better than Smith? I'm not sure. However, I do know I feel comfortable with him in there.

Zwick should absolutely start next Saturday. He has proved he can run this new spread offense. He mixes his receivers ideally (3 guys with 5 catches for 70+ yards each), makes sound decisions (his interception resulted from TJ Downing missing a protection scheme) and even scrambled effectively for key first downs.

There's no reason Smith can't play -- either out of necessity, if Zwick doesn't perform; or to change the pace and stress the Tex-ass defense. But Zwick has proved he has matured and developed into a very effective, no-mistakes QB.

Zwick didn't look too bad running today, but next week he will see a lot more pressure and a lot more speed. I like Smith's mobility. What I don't like is that what triggers a switch in QB is that your offense is struggling and our offense can't afford to struggle next week.

If he is looking good in practice I go with Smith.

Zwick deserves to start based on his performance on and off the field. I just hope Tressel gives Smith a chance to win back the job, and I don't mean mop up time. Obviously, if we are struggling, I want Tressel to give Smith a shot. If not, Smith is going to have to take the most of his opportunities to win the job.

I DO NOT want to annoint Zwick the starter based on one game, let alone Miami (OH). Tressel should, off field actions aside, pick the best for the team. The decision essentially could be the difference in a Nat'l Championship.

Everything that I saw at the game today made it seem to me that Zwick should be the starter next week. He made very few mistakes and ran better than I had expected.

That being said- if he starts to struggle next week, Tress should waste no time putting in TS.

I know one thing for sure about the QB situation.

There will be way too much speculation on the topic in the next 170 hours and 1 minute.

Zwick looked very good. I now have confidence we can win the B10 with him as the starter.

Still the best QB should start and Troy Smith has played better based on all the games till now. A few of them being against much better competetion than we faced today.

I trust Tress to play the best player.
