First, I'd like to say, I was very unproductive at work today. I bought the ESPN Gameplan online to check out OSU. Defense looked great. Hawk, Salley and Youboty looked to be in midseason form. Offensively Zwick had a very solid day throwing the rock (minus the interception thrown off his back foot). Offensive line protected pretty well from what I caught. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to watch the second half as I couldn't avoid work all day. From what I saw it looked like a perfect way to go into next week. Hopefully my horns will stay injury free and look good as well. Congrats to the Bucks!!

The offense looked better than i have seen it since '02, they picked off where they left off of last year.

the defense held them to -5 rushing yards at halftime, pittman looked great and was a bruiser today, the wide recievers were always open and all looked great, they keyed in on ginn so he was somewhat limited today. huston looked good and the one punt we had was fine. the linebackers and secondary looked great, save underwoord(he got burned a couple of times).

the best play of the game was the 4th down that kudla was one of 3 down lineman and he ended up with a sack, that is huge.

Zwick starter for UT?

I have never been a huge JZ fan, but MAN! did he look sharp today! The 1 INT should have been thrown out of bounds or take the sack, but other than that = flawless.

I think that TS brings another dimension to the position, but do you mess with the flow. I think JT runs with JZ until/and if we need TS.

The two qb system sucks, and I hope we don't go to that. Stick with your best gun, until he gets hurt or your getting your a^^ kicked.

Let the qb controversy begin. (is that how to spell controversy?)

Well I'm out. Leaving soon for AA, MI for dinner. Anyone been to the GandyDancer? BD:osu:

I don't think there's a controversy, but I do think it's possible JZ starts and TS comes on in relief. TS hasn't had any live action since scUM, so letting things settle-in a bit before inserting him could be beneficial to him, and the team.

I'll trust JT's judgment, whichever way he goes.

Although I think Zwick looked sharp for the most part throwing under absolutely no pressure in the spread, I do think he made more than 1 bad pass inside the red zone. He moved well when he needed to, but in my opinion, no way do we only come out of that first half with 20 points if Smith were in. I think we need every weapon we have against Texas' defense and Troy's feet is a big one.

Though Zwick completed the grand majority of his 6-12 yd. outs, ins and screens (almost all his passes), I don't think he did anything fantastic. I am appreciative for the solid play & the victory though. :)

So I assume that controversy is spelled correctly.

:wink2:........

Obviously JT is the man, but I'm bored. Say JZ is in and the game is close. They are moving the ball but stalling in red zone. They get one TD and its like 10-7. Do you break up the flow and insert TS? Its going to be interesting. Also who do give time to in practice with the 1st team offense?? Obviously if TS is going to play he needs a lot of time with the ones, dt his punishment this fall. I love this time of year!!. OU loss was pathetic. Someone go make fun of them on their boards.!!

I think we should have scored inside the red zone in the first half when we didn't. Smith gives us an element of mobility in that situation that Zwick does not.

I wonder, does anyone know how the Buckeye did inside the red zone with Smith and Zwick as quarterbacks? Is my perception wrong about Zwick moving us well between the twenties and then not being as successful as Smith inside the red zone? To me, that is the crux of the debate.

You are right on STEVE19

I was just talking to my boy about that in the 1st half. I happened last year too. JZ gets them to the red zone and then everything stalls, and our running game still looks very average at best. Pittman looks very impressive, but our oline still does not blow teams off of the line. I have never played competitive football, but thats my impression from the cushy sofa.

TS puts the fear into the LBs and DBs, and opens everything up. I agree. So why not go ahead and start him. It will a couple of 3 and outs to get warm, then turn on the TD scoring machine (optimist).
