they just had a CFB preview on ESPN News with the Game Day crew...Lee and Kirk picked OSU to win it all
The "real" College GameDay with Chris, Lee and Kirk debuts September 1, 7PM EDT before the SC/UCF game. But yes, Lee and Kirk are both picking OSU to get to the Rose.

Lately it seems this thread has gotten off topic, but the posts that have actually had anything to do with the game coming up, were good. I just wish the game was this weekend, and not 2 weeks from now. High Lonesome seems to be a good/respectable 'Horn fan, as he is interested in what tOSU is doing, as opposed to looking around for a reason to hate a team besides Oklahoma. I just hope the build-up justifies the game itself, and that the Texas fans that do travel to Columbus are treated the same way that we would expect to be treated next year, when once again 2 top 10 teams battle it out in Austin, TX. Having said that, I hope I'm not too far off base when I say that if all cylinders click, UT will have some serious wounds to lick come time to go home. VY scares me, but if he becomes your only threat, it's gonna be a long night for the away team.

The BP tailgate for the Texas game is going to be set up in the RV parking lot on Fred Taylor Drive right next to the Jesse Owens Memorial Track Facility.

I just want everyone to be clear on something.

While I have provided some information on parking, suggested locations for tailgates and the rules that must be followed, I cannot give free parking to people. I would lose my gig and that would piss me off to no end. I just don't want standing misconception that I am going to allow everyone into my lot for free. It can't and won't happen.

You're not any deeper than us if Selvin is a step slow. I don't expect you to abandon the run, but that's gonna leave you with exactly one proven commodity, VY (not counting your TE)... and a host of talent. Ramonce will probably be good, the rest I'll wait and see. I expected Shipley to be your best WR in our game, if he is still gimpy you guys are very thin at wideout. You can have all the potential in the world, but if that potential is filled with drop-happy guys, then I'd be a worried longhorn on the 10th.

I can't wait to see Ramonce and/or Charles (as a frosh) try and pick up all of our different blitzes. Good luck blocking Bobby Carpenter coming off of the edge, or Mike Kudla for that matter.

On a more gay note (yes the right side was farked at soonerfans):

Selvin has got to be the man in our running game. As long as he is healthy, we should be okay. It's a definite drop off from a year ago, but I like being able to change things up with the different running styles of Young, Taylor, and Charles. Throw Melton in the mix and you have alot of options. Alot of people are overlooking the fullback position as well. We lost a great fb in Will Matthews. He was a great lead blocker for Benson. We certainly should be in better shape for OU after playing you guys. I do hope we use both freshman in certain situations against you guys. That's a great environment to battle test them for OU.

Have you guys heard any news on how you RB position is shaping up? From all accounts, it seems as if it was Pittman's job to lose. From what I've seen of him, he looks to have good speed. He Doesn't strike me as the most instinctive runner. I watched the Spring Game and Haw seemed a bit tentative. I don't know if you chalk that up to nervousness, but he didn't run as hard as I would have expected for his measurables. I guess the defense had something to do with that as well. The film of Maurice Wells was pretty impressive. He looks to have excellent speed, and he sees the field pretty well. I would expect to see this guy against us. He looks like he can definitely get the corner. You guys will miss Braden Joe. That kid ran real hard. I liked his game!!

I think it's important for you guys to establish the running game against us. With Troy at Qb, you will have an added dimension like us. One of your Rb's will have to step up though. ESPNU is classic!!! I've been able to TIVO, several of your games from last year, and can say I've watched as much OSU this offseason as I have the Horns. I can honestly say Ted Ginn is one of the fastest players I've ever seen in football!! He is simply ridiculous!! HE more than anything, scares me. Holmes is an excellent receiver and still the biggest receiving threat, but Ginn is just a FREAK!!

It's definitely pittman's job. He did well last year (5 ypc), but was just too small for the beating the big10 puts on a RB. I'd agree that Haw hesitates sometimes. From the little Tressel tells the press, it seems like it will be Pittman handling the majority of the carries, followed by Schnittker (who will be similar to Brandon Joe, he is a converted FB, same idea), and then Maurice Wells IMHO. Haw may get carries too, but Tressel has said that MWells is picking up everything really quickly, including blitz packages, so haw will have to beat him in practice to keep Wells off of the field.

Pittman definitely hit the wall towards the second half of the season last year, but i think it was size more than anything... i think he said he was around 180 at the end of the season... IIRC, he's around 202 right now; and while naturally some of the weight will drop off as the season progresses, i think that a 200 pound Pittman will be much better suited to picking up blitzes and absorbing the punishment that big time football inflicts on one's body...

another thing that kind of struck me was after the Jersey Scrimmage, he was talking about how much the game has slowed down for him over the year... that usually translates to better performance... i'm looking for big things from him this year...

It's been mentioned before that since the end of his senior season in high school and signing his LOI to OSU, Wells has been in contact not just with the staff, but with the team. Mo Wells wanted to know what to work on before arriving for camps this season, and the team members he spoke to all agreed that it was blitz pickup/pass blocking, So Wells has been practicing this for the last half-year plus before even setting foot on campus.

I think if you look at the 2002 competition between Mo C, Mo Hall, and Lydell, it really wasn't a competition at all. Mo C did all those little things correctly, and would've remained the starter through the season even without the breakout game against Wazzu.

Mo Wells, from all reports, is demonstrating the same commitment to win the starting job. He has a second advantage over Haw in that Wells has kept his nose clean this offseason, while Haw made a headline or two.

Wed scrimmage report: So here is the summary of the last scrimmage that was Wed. afternoon.

1) Selvin looked great, including a "long run", I don't know what long constitutes.

2) Mack said that Henry Melton is already good enough to be a feature back, and will be ours on short yardage situations.

3) Ramonce had 2 touches(1 run 1 pass) and 2 TD's. Both were "long". As a side note, I have no clue why I can't get some yardages here.

4) Extra time was spent on Special Teams, McGee was 3-3 on FGAs, all were 30 yards+
