I don't know why they're working on special team at all to be honest with you. Didn't you read in this thread that every drive Vince Young starts ends in a touchdown? :roll2:
But you forget that Vince Young (aka Superman) is SO GOOD, that he doesn't really have to score any touchdowns. He's just going to run backward, into his own endzone, then out, then back in, then back out, then 99 yards and kick the field goal on the run, and the referees, who will all be in love with the great Vince Young, will just award him the Heisman right there.

I can't allow cars. Vans, SUV's, RV's only. Get there early and drop them off. I can allow that.

How about if I set up some lawn chairs in the back of my pickup?

I'm quite disappointed with the lack of attention this thing is getting. It seems like there are only a handful of people that are planning on attending. If that's the case, I'm not gonna waste my time and the time of Scooter or Gost8 setting it up. I figured that there would be a lot of people that would want to attend.

Food: Longhorns or Buckeyes?

Well I know this is a little off topic but I have seen some weird stuff in this thread.

'Came across these in Las Vegas(I had never heard of them before), and it was pretty weird. Hopefully I'm not clueless making this post, has anyone else seen these before? Click on the thumbnail (it is a giant picture I took with my camera, sry) for a good look.
<---clicky

But you know, I would prefer those delicious peanutbutter and chocolate buckeyes over these anyday.

And, uh, it has to do with longhorns and buckeyes, so its not off topic AT ALL!

Wed scrimmage report: So here is the summary of the last scrimmage that was Wed. afternoon.

1) Selvin looked great, including a "long run", I don't know what long constitutes.

2) Mack said that Henry Melton is already good enough to be a feature back, and will be ours on short yardage situations.

3) Ramonce had 2 touches(1 run 1 pass) and 2 TD's. Both were "long". As a side note, I have no clue why I can't get some yardages here.

4) Extra time was spent on Special Teams, McGee was 3-3 on FGAs, all were 30 yards+
Romance may even be listed as a WR.

McGee is gonna start all 3 kicking jobs looks like. He's pretty good at 30 and under, punting, and can consitently kick into the endzone. We'll probably go for it on 4th and 4 or punt instead of going for a 50 yard FG if it comes down to it.

Unless you have the NUUUUUUGE (I am really going to miss saying that...).

I doubt many (if any) teams are going to try a 50+ yd FG unless they have too or the situation dictates it (end of half, or end of game and down by 1 or 2 pts).

I think tOSU was the only team for the last few yrs with a 4th and 2 at the 35 saying "eh, screwit, lets kick a FG".

According to SI, Texas will be playing Marshall in the Orange Bowl. OK, it's a movie with Mrs. Gretzky and Vanna White.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Marshall's football team is being portrayed in an upcoming film that is scheduled to premiere at next year's Sundance Film Festival.

Dirt Nap pits the Thundering Herd against the Texas Longhorns in the Orange Bowl.

The film stars Ed Harris, John McGinley, Paul Hipp and D.B. Sweeney. It's about three men in the midst of a midlife crisis on a road trip from Pittsburgh to Miami to see the fictional game.
Sweeney also co-wrote and directed the movie, which is being produced by George Parra.

Others in the cast include Moira Kelly, Janet Jones Gretzky, Pat Hingle, John McEnroe and Vanna White.

There from an Austin candy maker called Lammes, if you are in Austin watching TV before Valentine's Day, you will see a commercial for their chocolate covered strawberries. 'Longhorns' are like Turtles or Millionaires.

Has Mrs. Gretzky been in anything since Police Academy 4 (or 5 or 6 whichever one starred Lloyd Braun instead of the Guttenberg). Wayne killed her career.

I just watched that Vince Young highlight reel. All he does is cut to his right. That shouldn't be too hard to stop.
you would think so, but when you watch Vince, he never looks as fast as he actually is because his legs are so damn long. To put it in some perspective, he is five inches taller than Vick. Those are some long strides.

All that being said, and going back to the common theme on this thread, without other offensive weapons stepping up and contributing, Vince cannot beat tOSU by himself. With our line, Vince can beat lower level teams, but he knows, the coaching staff knows, and everybody that has read this thread knows, that Vince won't be able to play like he did at the end of last season against your LB Crew.

For what its worth, Selvin was named the starting TB today.....

Agreed. I was really hoping after the great response we got for the Spring Game Tailgate... (although the weather ruined it) that the Texas Tailgate would be over the top. Many people that PM and asked me to start a Texas Tailgate thread didn't even respond. Anyways I am down with the van idea SIMV. I don't know who all you have going in on it but you can count me in.

I don't have any takers on the van thing. It seems like no one is interested in doing a tailgate. I don't know what the deal is.

I think alot of your problem is that most of us can't afford the tickets to the game, I would donate my left teste for some seats. I just can't afford $300. It would be a comlete blast to come down there and party with you guys and go to the game but I am going to end up just sitting on my couch probably unless I get together with some of my freinds and have a party.

How much is it to park a suv in the rv lot? If its what I am thinking of 50$ you can forget it. Im a cheap bastard.
If we can get together on SIMV's van idea and get 6 - 10 people involved with that we could split the cost of the van and the parking. (yes it is $50 to park in the RV lot) But we can park a conversion van anywhere. (Woody Hayes Center, Fawcett, etc.....) And with my c pass, it should be free.

I understand that. I was thinking a lot of people would come and then go down to hiney-gate or to a bar. (there would be tv's at the tailgate too)

Maybe we will just have to wait till next years spring game and hope for good weather.
