Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

As a physicist I must point out that elastic collisions, or something even close to elastic between human bodies is an impossibility. They are all inelastic since not all energy is transferred.

You might try rephrasing it, as that statemenst makes no sense whatsoever.

This is true, but an even better effect than a completely elastic collision is a collision in which the force from the runner impacts AJ Hawk, who remains perfectly still.

This is a result of the force from the runner going into the body of AJ Hawk, and then transferring into the ground. This allows AJ to not move. HOWEVER, and this is true, the world feels the force and the rotation of the earth is affected. This is called a "stick." As in: Derrick Johnson stuck that runningback.

By this logic, Derrick Johnson has probably slowed down the earth's rotation by .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 seconds in his time playing college football.

So, when an announcer says someone was knocked into next week, do you wince (or cheer, depending on the team) at the hit, or do you complain about how time travel isn't possible?

So why is it that DJ will always be remembered as a drag-down LB as opposed to a head-wrecker? The evidence shows otherwise.

I could be wrong but i would guess that it had to do with the way he was able to chase down people and drag them to the ground. He had so many big plays that he made from the backside that people remember. That, and the fact that most of his big hits were in a crowd while his open field plays(which there were many) were just that, open field solid takles but rarely big hits

I believe Sergio Kindle will be better than DJ. I said in a post earlier that this defense will remind people of the some of the defenses the Miami Canes. had in the early 90's. Speed everywhere, Size where it count's, and a mean ass nasty attitude. Any team trying to run outside has signed their own death wish. Run up the middle, and Killebrew, Kindle, J. Campbell, and Kelson will knock your freaking head off. Secondary= best in the Nation by far. Speed Kills, and we have more than anyone in college football.

You are on crack. No team is faster than Ohio State...no one. Ask the 2002 Miami (the then-all-time speed team) team, or the 2005 Notre Dame team. Hell, even on Pittman's 60+ yard pass against us he got ran down from behind by our corner who was over 5 yards behind. Texas has a lot of speed, but they're not the fastest.

Thats ridiculous.

You replace a top-10 pick that gave you great versatility, and a 3rd round pick. You only return 2 starters in the secondary, but they will be the best in the nation by far? Im calling bullshit.

EDIT: BTW, how many career tackles does Sergio Kindle have???

Lonesome, after watching quite a few Texas games during DJ's final season, I'm going to have to agree with you on your analysis of why he isn't considered a knock-out hitter. He was ALWAYS dragging people down from behind. Now if you ask UTMNC, he literally decapitated between 17 & 18 victims while paralyzing a paltry 6.

UTMNC, your posts are beginning to get ridiculously blind and exaggerative again. Your thoughts on Kindle would be like us saying Ross Homan will be better than A.J. Hawk. Make a, "he looks like him" or, "he plays like so and so", but my goodness gimme a break with this, he will be better stuff. Give the kid a chance to develop and become what he becomes. It is 110% freaking impossible to make any intelligent statement like this. You're lucky there's more than one quality Texas poster on here because you're killing their validity.
