Game thread: Bama 31, Florida 3 (Final)

Sorry, partner, but I don't see LSU dropping below us...they won 37-7 on the road.

We shall see. I still think we'll be the top ranked 1 loss team. I don't see beating up a hapless MSU team as a big deal to the voters but they are a bunch of dumbasses so who knows.

If we survive happy valley or God forbid actually go put one on PSU I think we end next week top 5. UGA is the next in line to get exposed.

Back on the game itself, and what it means.

This was a Huuge win for Mike Shula and the Tide.
It was a Huuge wake up call for Meyer and the whole Florida team - welcome to life in a truly competitive conference.

It was also the Tides first win at home against an opponent coming in ranked in the top 5 since (I think) 1982, they had failed to pick off the last five top 5 opponents they faced at home. (Penn State was that opponent yes?)

So this was history for the Tide program - it really cannot get much bigger than that at this early stage of the season.

Penn State 1982 was indeed the last time Bama beat a top-5 team at home. Actually today was the first time ever to defeat a top-5 team in Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, since they move many of their top games to Legion Field in Birmingham.

Here's the pics of Prothro's injury:

EDIT: Image link has been changed to a general link. A friend of the Alabama program asked that these images be removed out of respect for Tyrone Prothro and his family. I tend to agree, but I also don't want to censor. So we'll meet in the middle. Just a link, but no graphics on this forum. Thanks - 3yards

"Return the Gators to glory"

Gimme a fucking break, its should read "we need another coach to come in and give us a miracle run unlike any before seen in the programs history."

Fact is the Gators SR class is trying to avoid 5 losses for the first time in their careers. Ron Zook aint that bad and Meyer aint that good...15 losses in 3 years means you have talent issues.

They should be happy with 8-3 in the SEC this year and build from there. i hope they fucking kill FSU though.:wink2:
