I want fuckin' payback for the 42-17 ass-beating they gave us in 1999. I want to beat their ass so soundly that they never think they'll have a chance at winning in The Shoe again...

OSU won't be caught looking past Wisconsin

Badgers have beaten OSU three straight times, and are the only Big Ten team with a winning record vs. Tressel.

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State coach Jim Tressel doesn't like his players to look ahead in the schedule, but he made sure their attention turned toward Wisconsin at the earliest possible moment.
Even before they peeled off their sweat-stained uniforms after beating Penn State on Saturday night, Tressel reminded them of the recent history against the Badgers.

Buckeyes get chance for revenge on Badgers Wisconsin has three-game win streak over OSU
By George M. Thomas Beacon Journal sportswriter
Published on Wednesday, Oct 31, 2007
COLUMBUS: Ohio State tight end Rory Nicol calls it disrespect. The last time Wisconsin came into Ohio Stadium, the Badgers left with a 24-13 victory.
''The memory I have of Wisconsin is No. 1 them beating us and No. 2 them dancing on the Block O,'' Nicol said. ''They beat us though, at home, and I think that's the bitter taste that everybody's got in their mouth right now, that they've had success against us at home.''

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OSU plays with chip on shoulder
Wednesday, October 31, 2007
By Todd Porter
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

COLUMBUS Pundits and analysts are convinced that Ohio State is not the best college football team in the country. Buckeye tight end Rory Nicol says he doesn?t listen.

He doesn?t have to.

Nicol has two sisters who call him about once a day. Invariably, the talk comes around to Ohio State?s No. 1 national ranking.

?Well, we lost on the biggest stage (national title game) you can be on, and we got beat pretty bad, too,? Nicol said. ?People are going to have that opinion until we prove otherwise.?

OSU has been Badgered in the past by Wisconsin

Jim Naveau | [email protected] - 10.31.2007

COLUMBUS ? For two teams who haven?t played since 2004, there seemed to be a lot of talk about recent history on Tuesday when Ohio State coach Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes? players discussed Saturday?s game against Wisconsin.
Maybe that?s because Wisconsin has been sort of a nemesis for OSU, dating back to before Tressel arrived in 2001.
Wisconsin has won four of its last six games against Ohio State and has won the last three times it has played in Ohio Stadium. Tressel?s teams are 1-3 against Wisconsin.
So, do the Badgers have the Buckeyes? number? ?I don't know. We'll find out Saturday,? Tressel said at his weekly press conference.
No. 1 Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) and Wisconsin (7-2, 3-2 Big Ten) have seen their seasons go in opposite directions, at least in the polls.

Badgers have owned Ohio State in recent years
JASON LLOYD, Morning Journal Writer
10/31/2007

COLUMBUS -- Jim Tressel doesn't typically like to waste a lot of time. It's why he barely allowed his players long enough to give themselves a round of applause Saturday night in Happy Valley before reminding them how much Wisconsin has dominated the recent series against the Buckeyes.

''As he was saying congratulations, he was saying ?but we have Wisconsin coming up,''' linebacker Marcus Freeman said. ''That's the first thing he brought up, that we've lost the last three times we've played them.''

At 1-3, Wisconsin is the only Big Ten team against which Tressel has a losing record. The Badgers have won two straight in the series and four of the last six. Even more remarkable has been three straight wins in Ohio Stadium, a feat unheard of during this era of Buckeye dominance.

Freshmen facing big test as stand-ins for injured Hill

By JEFF POTRYKUS
[email protected]

Posted: Oct. 30, 2007

Madison - Barring dramatic improvement in his bruised left leg during the next few days, tailback P.J. Hill probably won't be healthy enough to play Saturday when the University of Wisconsin faces top-ranked Ohio State.

Hill, who suffered the injury with 3 minutes 42 seconds left in the first quarter of UW's victory over Indiana last week and sat out the rest of the day, was not available for interviews Tuesday night after practice.
However, Hill was favoring his injured leg and didn't appear capable of playing in a game.
When asked whether Hill was able to practice Tuesday, offensive coordinator Paul Chryst said:
"He did some stuff, a typical Tuesday. . . . You wish he would do a lot more but that is kind of where we're at right now."

Big 10 Fearless Predictions

Wisconsin (7-2) at Ohio State (9-0) 12:00 PM Big Ten Network
Why to watch: Ohio State is starting to gain a few measures of respect as the nation's number one team after the dominant 37-17 win at Penn State, but the world wants to see more. Is the defense really as nasty as it's been against all the average teams it's gone against? Is QB Todd Boeckman really a fringe Heisman candidate after a strong first nine games? Is Wisconsin just going to be a speed bump on the way to Illinois and Michigan? The Penn State win was good, but getting a win this week might even be better, even though the Badgers were destroyed by the Nittany Lions a few weeks ago. Wisconsin is playing like the Wisconsin everyone had in the top ten at the beginning of the year, with two straight suffocating performances against Northern Illinois and Indiana to get within shouting distance of the Big Ten race again. Recent history is kind to UW, winning the last three games in Columbus, with the last loss coming in 1996. This will be when Bret Bielema's club shows that it's a true national player, or it'll be a fantastic entry for the OSU resume.
Why Wisconsin might win: The Ohio State defense is getting the headlines, but the Badger D is playing almost as well lately, with far better play from the secondary and far better tackling overall. After the loss to Penn State, the defense appeared to take a different attitude, and it has paid off allowing just six points in the last two games. Yeah, NIU and Indiana aren't Ohio State and Michigan, but the high-powered Hoosier attack was kept under wraps, with Jack Ikegwuonu and the secondary shutting down IU star receiver James Hardy. There's a chance the Buckeye receivers could be erased from the game from the opening snap.
Why Ohio State might win: Ohio State's defense has proven it can handle all styles. It stopped Michigan State's running game, it stopped Purdue's passing attack, it kept Kent State QB Julian Edelman from running wild, and it stuffed Penn State's offense after a big early drive. Wisconsin needs to pound the ball and control the line to have any shot at winning, but the Buckeye defensive front should have few problems getting into the backfield and getting to QB Tyler Donovan. Wisconsin might become one-dimensional early on needing to pass and pass again against the nation's number one pass defense because ...
Who to watch: ... Heisman caliber RB P.J. Hill is questionable at best with a foot injury suffered in the Indiana win. To make matters worse, dynamic backup tailback Lance Smith isn't able to travel with the team as punishment for some off the field issues. That means the Badger offense will be on Donovan and, most likely, freshman Zach Brown. Brown got 14 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown last week, and if Hill isn't ready to roll, it'll be up to the speedster, and a slew of fullback options like Chris Pressley to give UW some semblance of a ground game. The key will be Donovan, who has thrown at least one interception in each of his last six games and only one touchdown pass in his last three. He's been good in big situations on the road before, and now he'll have to pull of the performance of his career.
What will happen: Wisconsin has the makeup and the history to come into Columbus relaxed, efficient, and shockingly good. Don't be stunned if the Badgers make this a battle, but the Buckeye defense will be too much for the banged up UW offense.
CFN Prediction: Ohio State 26 ... Wisconsin 13 ... Line: Ohio State -15.5
Must See Rating: (5 Heidi Klum on Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - 1 Heidi Klum on Oprah) ... 4.5

Ohio State football
Revenge factor difficult to deny
Tressel won't say it, but Buckeyes have Badgers in sights
Wednesday, October 31, 2007 3:47 AM
By Ken Gordon

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Revenge might be a dish best served cold, as the saying goes, but Ohio State coach Jim Tressel popped it into the microwave Saturday. He heated the leftovers immediately after the Buckeyes beat Penn State, reminding them that their next opponent, Wisconsin, has owned them in recent years.
"That was the first thing coach Tressel brought up in the locker room," linebacker Marcus Freeman said. "He said, 'Congratulations, but you've got Wisconsin coming up, and he made sure we remembered we had lost to them the past three times (at home)."
This week, top-ranked Ohio State (9-0, 5-0) will try to get its first victory over Wisconsin (7-2, 3-2) in Ohio Stadium since 1996.

Glenville pipeline extends to Wisconsin

Wednesday, October 31, 2007 3:47 AM
By Shawn Mitchell

The Columbus Dispatch
With Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith, receiver Ted Ginn Jr. and six current Buckeyes among its alumni, Cleveland Glenville High School is represented prominently on the Ohio State football roster. But not all roads from the school lead to Columbus. Wisconsin has three Glenville players, all freshmen. One, receiver Kyle Jefferson, is making a name for himself.
"One of our best influences so far has been the emergence of (Jefferson)," coach Bret Bielema said. "He was put into the limelight a little bit earlier than we wanted, but Kyle just goes about his business the right way.
"He's been better for our offense because of it."
