Game Thread Game One: Ohio State 38, Youngstown St. 6 (final)

This discussion isn't about winning or losing.... it's about a difference of opinion.

Either way, I respect the opinion of those who think playing a school as small as YSU is good thing for Buckeye football. I disagree, but there is no right or wrong (winner or loser) in this discussion. I understand the JT and Ohio connections with YSU, but I think that's besides the point.

I'm not so sure it's SUPPOSED to be a good thing for tOSU as much as it's helping out another school. I may be completely off though...

The chances of YSU beating OSU in The Shoe are the same as my having a 3-way with Jessica Alba and Joan Chen...

If Jessica Alba is anything like me, she may be pining for Jessica Biel to replace the lovely Ms. Chen....:wink2:

haha, I'm positively surprised that Mili has a taste for Joan. She once was the 'Alba' for millions of Chinese men.
This is how she looked in her first movie when she was back in China 20 some years ago.

Penn State's confirmed 2008 schedule includes home tilts with Coastal Carolina (I-AA) and Arkansas State (barely I-A), at Syracuse, and a rumored home date with TCU. Talk about weak...

There we go. Thanks, CleveBucks. See, it's not the Buckeyes who are setting a bad example by playing YSU, it's just that we are the only team that is going to hear about it, because we are always battling the other top teams for positioning. Since JT has done his job (very well, may I add) of running the conference since he showed up, and State Penn has fed off our standards, they won't get mentioned by Mark May or Colin Cowherd on any ESPiN telecasts that reach millions of people. They just aren't a threat for that perch, and aren't as fun to pick on. I could go all day....

Look I'm all for helping out the little guys but I just don't like the scheduling of this one especially if it is happening more than twice in the next 5 years. Nobody is saying they are not good in their own league but they shouldn't be on the same field as the Buckeyes and I fail to see how it will help us going through the season. One thing I always liked about my Buckeyes is I thought they always scheduled some decent out of conference opponents and I realize the Washington game(scheduled years ago) isn't what we thought it would be. Didn't State Penn wax YSU last year.....did it help them prepare for the rest of the season? Also, as far as State Penn scheduling some of those 1-AA teams yeah it's weak but that TCU game is not....that is a decent program and the Lions could certainly lose that game IMO. Lastly, I used to hammer Domer fans for their weak schedule with them playing airforce, navy, girl scouts of america, but I feel I don't have much to say to them with our schedule this season. One thing I have been wondering about, since we are playing so many Ohio teams....do we when an Ohio cup trophy if we go undefeated against state teams? GO BUCKS! :oh:

:io:

and as far as the Ohio Cup goes, no. Been awhile since we lost to an Ohio squad. We are Top Dog around here, and are not trying to prove our worth around the state. It's a foregone conclusion, no one will disagree with that. While PSU is playing TCU in '08, we are playing USC. Feel free to not say much to the Domer fans this year as far as scheduling goes, as they will be off to about a 3-5 start. There will plenty to pick on them as the season wares on. We can just be the Buckeyes, and consider this our open season for someone that wants to make fun of our competition. Because, deep down, you and those Domer fans both know, they don't want any of the Buckeyes. Not last year, next year, or any year. At least not since 1936.

She still looks good at age 46...

I like the idea of having a fairly easy non-conference schedule, especially in a massive offensive rebuilding year. Should allow the group to get some chemistry before the Big Ten season starts.
I agree with you there. That is the only benefit I can see for our Buckeyes by having a schedule like this. I am still a little worried about that Washington game though.

Oh don't be such a worry wart. We will be fine. Washington will be lucky if they can score on us at all.
