Yup. Watched each episode twice this weekend. The final scene with Khaleesi's ships sailing was awesome. Ramsey getting his face eaten off was as satisfying as I remember.
I'm rewatching season 6 as well- I just finished episode 9.

I found it frustratingly stupid of Jon Snow to charge at Ramsey's lines after Rickon was hit with the arrow- just an incredibly stupid thing to do considering what an obvious trap it was and what a horrible position it put his troops in--- going directly against everything he had talked about at the war council and with Sansa the night before.

I get that it was supposed to come off as brave and extremely loyal to his family (even the ones that no one cares about like Rickon), but it also came off as impulsive, reckless, and the actions of an extremely bad leader, which I didn't like considering Jon is in line to be the savior of man kind.

That said, the episode was solid, obviously- but that particular decision to charge the enemy line by himself after Rickon was shot was so stupid.

I think you missed the point of that scene. That scene was meant to show one more time that Ramsey is great at manipulating people and is a rather good tactician. He knew that killing Rickon in that manner would cause Jon to be impulsive and reckless and put his army in a huge disadvantage. Also, note that Jon is usually calm and in control in a battle but I thought he was extra aggressive in this fight. That would work with my reading of the scene. Ramsey sprang the trap and would have won had it not been for Sansa. Ramsey played Jon like a fiddle. I thought it was perfect (other than Rickon not zig-zagging. Freaking idiot!)

Yeah, I realize that Jon was played like a fiddle- which is why I didn't like it.

He's supposed to be a great leader, and on top of that he was specifically warned about it.

To break it down a bit more- Rickon starts running and Jon rides out to meet/save him. Got it, I'm still totally on board.

Rickon gets hit with an arrow at the last minute and dies. Jon sits there in the middle of the battlefield for a few moments seemingly thinking about what to do next... when he decides to charge alone at the enemy lines is where the show (briefly) loses me.

That's the stupidest fucking decision ever and beneath someone like Jon Snow, IMO. But I suppose it makes for a more climactic, tense, and visually spectactular start to the battle.

Rewatched the last episode yesterday. Whatever happens to her this season (and I assume that it won't end well), I loved Cersei's revenge in blowing up the sept and wine-boarding the head nun (or whatever they're called). "Oh, you're not going to die today. You're not going to die for a long time... This [the zombie Mountain] is your god now."

The key (in my IMO) is the conversation between Jon and Sansa the night before the battle. Jon is sure he's messing with Ramsey and Sansa knows better. She also explains why Rickon is both so important to them but also why Ramsey will have him killed (being the true born son, etc etc). I think this puts the idea in Jon's head that he MUST save Rickon at any cost and that's why he charges out on the field.

Was it impulsive? Absolutely. But it wasn't totally out of character.

Yeah, but once again- after Rickon is dead and Jon decides to charge the enemy lines by himself is where the out of character utter stupidity lies.
