One would think the Great Sparrow would not endorse a 'trial by combat.'

It's interesting to me that the Great Sparrow seems like a humble man of the people, other than, you know, the starvation of inmates, forced confessions, rampant homophobia, and hypocritical violence by his creepy followers.
I think that's his facade. He seems all about tearing down anybody and everybody.

I don't think it's a façade. I think he's a typical religious zealot who genuinely believes he's doing the right thing. He's turning into, basically, someone similar to the Supreme Leader of Iran.

The interesting thing to me is that he clearly had the goods on Cersei from the beginning. He had to have known before he would allow Lancel to be absolved of his sins (which is, quite frankly, astounding considering he killed King Robert). He set her up, but only after he used her to arm the faith militant.

It sure will be interesting to see how the Stannis crowd feels about this episode.

More insane book changes by D&D. Meh.
The difficult thing is how do you know it's a change from the book vs something that happens in book 6/7? I understand that perhaps at this stage in the book during the trek to winterfell it may not have happened, but perhaps it eventually does. Unless she's already died in a different way in the books.
