Regarding who sits on the Iron Throne- Cersei is definitely dying, there is no doubt about that.

Given that, in my opinion there is absolutely no way they are killing off Sansa and/or Daenerys and leaving men in charge.

Sansa and/or Daenerys are definitely surviving - whether Jon Snow makes it too is the big question.

I think Jon sacrifices himself to either defeat the Night King or Cersei and leaves Daenerys to sit the Iron Throne with Sansa being Queen in the North when the dust settles.

A point that makes me less confident in that outcome is the vision where Daenerys almost touches the Iron Throne but then turns away - but this could refer to her going north to confront the army of the dead rather than attack Cersei in the first place.

I've got a guess on that.....and I'm not going to be happy if I'm right. And since I watched a video of a guy guessing what would happen in Captain Marvel, which kind of ruined it for me when he turned out to be right, I think I'll keep it to myself.

But if I'm right, I'll let everybody know

Episodes 3 & 5 were directed by Miguel Sapochnik, director of The Gift, Hardhome, The Battle of the Bastards, and Winds of Winter.

Aside from the previously reported fact that Episode 3 took 55 consecutive nights to shoot, production insiders have said the battle is more epic than Helms Deep from the LotR.

Can’t believe it’s going to air the same weekend as Endgame.

FWIW, I’ve watched Episode 2 twice now. Loved it. Tied a big bow on everyone’s arcs. Everybody has said goodbye.

Fully expect half the main cast is dead next week. Everyone in the Crypt is entering a death trap IMO. Hello, they’re surround by dead people!!!

Yet, I don't feel like Arya has said good bye to me.

garbage Hollywood writing. Everyone important that died, died in some ridiculous heroic manner. Just trash.

Not that I didn't enjoy the episode, but man.....Lyanna, Beric, Edd, Jorah, and Melisandre is the extent of it? Come on!!!! Kill some important people, you pussies!

EDIT - sorry, Theon. I forgot about you. You were important, too. But seriously....don't just lay there and die, stab that bitch or something!

The red wedding would have never happened if these writers didn't have book material they had to follow

It was written for the nerds who post vapid reactions on Youtube.

The visuals were awesome, the writing not so much.

CGI costs a lot less if you make everything in a snow storm

Tactics 101:

Don’t charge your cavalry straight into enemy lines, hold them in reserve and charge the flanks when the enemy is engaged (I get that it made for a cool visual)

Trebuchets go behind walls or at the very least behind your front lines so you can fire them more than once

Dig wider trenches

What purpose exactly did Dondarian serve through his death? Especially since they highlighted it in the dialogue. Couldn’t he have at least blown himself up with some lord of light power to block the hallway or something? He deserved a cooler death (I thought he was going to be the one to sacrifice himself to light the trench, or to kill the giant, or to do something...)

The problem with having so many characters in one place is that you lose track of all of them- this could have been alleviated somewhat by having a lot more of them die off throughout the episode, I thought for sure they were going to go harder with that - again, someone bites it to light the trench, someone more important bites it to kill the giant, and so on...

Seriously, why the hell didn’t the red lady at least sacrifice herself in some interesting way... and that last shot, uh, into the sunrise? Can someone pay me to write this shit, seriously

I was genuinely surprised by who took out the Night King, (other than the physics of how she managed to do that) it was a well done surprise

Dead Starks, I was hoping they’d be friendly, like “yeah, we’ve been fighting these fuckers for millennia, we’ve done this before”

Poor Winterfell, I hope the last shot of the show is them undertaking a massive reconstruction project with scaffolding everywhere and whoever’s on the iron throne saying “we’ve got your back whatever the cost”

Fuck the producers for continuing to be lazy assholes with Ghost... it looks like he’s still around based on the “next episode” footage... and it looks like the walls of Winterfell are just fine so maybe my previous concern is moot

Overall, other than the Arya ending, I thought it was pretty “meh”

They had so many opportunities for characters to shine (Dondarian and Red Lady primarily, and they totally wimped our on taking down main characters) but they whiffed completely
