Game Thread Game Four: #1 Ohio State 28, #24 Penn State 6 (9/23/06)

It is an eye-opener -for us -- and for the Big10 overall.

It is downright scary how good this defense is already. Sure there are a couple things that could still use work, but they are playing at a level in game four that I didn't expect till game eight or nine.

Four down, eight to go. It is now 7:35 here in Korea....time for some z's. These 3:30 games are killing me.

:oh:

Doesn't matter where his foot is as long as the ball breaks the plane.

First of all, it wasn't an impressive performance by the #1 team in the country. If Miami had won like this back in the day, you'd all be crying if they were still No 1, so stop with the double standard.

Second, from that video angle, it looks like the TD was still good. Since his foot was near the goalline, it's likely that his arm and ball were already over it.

Michigan's 14 point win on a dry day to an inferior opponent to PSU is a good win. However, in a huge rainstorm a 28-6 win isn't impressive.

Dough Flutie: "It was really 14-6, and could have been 14-10." I guess int returns for TD's don't count anymore. I swear to god, these people are the most irrational, flip-flopping people to grace our television sets.

The last OSU NC team had a lot of wins that weren't "impressive" in many folks eyes. The fact is they gutted out a tough game in crappy weather, with crappy referees and came away with the W. That is all that matters in the end.
