:(

Is it bad that I feel more sadness for this than the stories in the fiery crash thread?

I bet there's more where that came from...in their natural environment and not Mid Ohio.

Yeah... From predators trying to find it's meal. First of all, these animals should never have been in Ohio, perhaps even the US. Secondly, was it necessary to shoot them all? Were tranquilizers not an option?

The tigers being shot is the worst for me. Killing an endangered species, let alone 9 (from what I could see in the picture) is a [censored]ing disgrace. Furthermore, the people who shot the animals are an even bigger disgrace than the kook who was responsible for this whole [censored]ing mess.

Really? How about the fact that the people that shot them were cops that were going into the area to protect the people living is surrounding areas. By the time the cops got there the animals were alreay wandering down the street. Several witnesses talked about seeing the cops getting rush by the animals as they got out of their cars.

How about the fact that people from the columbus zoo and the wilds were there including Jack Hanna, who said it was to dangerous to to tranquilizers because it was dark and in a wooded area. They would not have been able to track the animals and then they would have been even more agitated when they woke up, or the fact that a tranquilizer does not work instantly. Hanna was nothing but respectful of the cops, and pointed out they had to go home and talk to their kids and family about what had happened. Do you think they wanted to kill any of those animals?

But you know what next time something like this happens we can send you out there with a tranquilizer gun, and you tell us how that works out for you.

Woah there compadre. I obviously haven't had NEARLY the exposure to news sources about this as you have.

Move along, nothing to see.

And there is the problem. People spouting off at the mouth when they don't have the facts. Next time maybe you should make sure you read up on a situation before you go on passing judgement on peoples actions

It's a message board, that's what this is for... To discuss things right or wrong... Get the stick out of your ass. Besides I asked why weren't tranquilizers used, before ranting some more about endangered species becoming more endangered.

He had been convicted in November 2005 of animal cruelty, allowing an animal to roam freely and rendering animal waste without a license.

 Yet the animals weren't seized then.... So who's fault is it? Looks like this could have been easily avoided.

Very sad to see all those animals...but to protect people, it had to be done.

One monkey could still be at large, although he could have also been eaten by one of the jungle cats. Which apparently he didn't get the memo from Alan that Tigers don't like cinnamon. It could have saved that monkey

It's a terrible thing to see all those endangered species killed. My questions are. Who was taking care of them while he was in jail for a year?
How did he get them here to begin with?
If his intention was to kill himself why not just let them take care of him?
Can I get one of those pelts?

The better question would be, why in the hell weren't they taken away when he was sentenced?
