CINCINNATI, Ohio -- When Kerry Coombs became Cincinnati Colerain's head football coach in 1991, he bought a new red Chevy.


It matched the school's color scheme. Fitting.


By the time his 16-year run at Colerain was over, the finish on that red Chevy faded, but Coombs never thought to replace it.


Maybe there was a reason for that.


"He was the head coach and an administrator while he was here," said Tom Bolden, Colerain's current coach and former Coombs assistant. "We used to tease him that he was driving that old Chevy because he didn't want the kids he had to discipline earlier in the day tearing up his car while he was at practice.


"He didn't care with the old Chevy whether anyone damaged it or not ... If he were driving the car he drives now, he'd have to hide it."

Didn't make my way to the food in the green room. According to Coach Coombs' 3rd plate, safe 2 say it was really good.
