Juve won their third consecutive Scudetto, but you can wake me up when they actually compete in Europe. Pretty astonishing how far Serie A has completely fallen off the past few seasons. The coinciding demise of both Milan & Inter (Neither will be in UCL next season) probably had a lot to do with it.

Italian and French football both have fallen off the face of the earth. Sad to see really. I get bored seeing the same English, German, and Spanish teams every year.

I wouldn't say the French League teams have completely fallen off. It took a pretty lucky ass bounce for Chelsea to advance past PSG in this year's CL. Monaco isn't bad, but this was their first year back in Ligue 1. Marseille and OL have really struggled to keep up with PSG and Monaco's spending, though. That's probably what has hurt the league, the Barcelona/Real Madrid effect. (luckily Atletico Madrid have stepped up to make it a 3 horse race)

I guess I was more speaking to the fact that it's more like a 1-2 team league now, much like a Portugal or even a Switzerland or a Scotland (they aren't that bad, but the gap is big). Spain has a ton of depth, the 4-7 teams are always at the end of Europa it seems like. Germany and England are similar. France and Italy don't seem to have any of that.

Valencia isn't a bad club at all. They always find ways to win, with or without their biggest stars. Guess I should have at least given them a little more credit. Sevilla had a pretty good year as well.

Italy has under-achieving teams (Napoli, Roma, and Udinese), and teams who are in complete rebuild mode (Inter Milan and AC Milan). Then, they have a few teams always fighting to take that next big step into the top 5-10 teams, like Fiorentina and Cagliari. They've got some work to do, that's for sure. But there's a ridiculous amount of talent still in Italy. France, I just don't see it. It's PSG and Monaco at the top, Marseille and OL just below them, and then it's everyone else. Another thing that I think hurts Italy and France, is their second division is and will never be anywhere close to England and Spain's second division. They seem to know how to stockpile the young talent.

Of the 4 teams left in Europe, 3 are from Spain, none are named Barcelona, and Sevilla had to get by Valencia to get there. I don't think there's much doubt which league is the best in the world right now. I agree, England, Germany, and Spain have vastly superior lower divisions, which leads to superior upper divisions.

PSG complete deal for David Luiz - ESPNFC
David Luiz has joined French side Paris Saint-Germain in a five-year deal reported to be worth around 50 million pounds from Chelsea.
Quite possibly the worst money ever spent. Talk about an outrageous sum for someone who probably isn't even worth half that amount.
