I haven't heard anything concrete since then, but it sounds like they are leaking the info out slowly to "slow the story down".
This is the kind of thing that anyone is vulnerable to if the compliance department isn't sufficiently aggressive. With that having been said, I find it suspicious that the earliest version of this (from several months ago), had a few athletes and a few academic advisors involved. Now, there are many athletes, but only one academic advisor. It looks like it is all being pinned on one guy.
It is entirely possible that one guy could have distributed the answers to on-line tests to a large group of athletes, but the earliest versions of the story included a more active role for the advisor(s). While it is possible that the more recent versions of the story are more accurate, it certainly raises an eyebrow.
If this is just a case of one lone-cowboy AA, then the appearance that FSU is giving by slow-leaking the story is probably more harmful than the benefit of "slowing it down".
