I think a lot of it is leftover from the poll and BCS eras, when the perception of a weak conference could cost you a national championship. I was a big advocate then that Ohio State needed a strong B1G and strong Michigan or they just might get left out of the championship game. With the playoff, that's fundamentally changed. That being said, my inclination is to always root for the B1G out of conference, even for Michigan. That's on a temporary Harbaugh Hiatus though since watching him lose and melt down has become so fun.

While your point is logical, the Pac10-12 was a slapfight of a conference much of USC's run and they were always in the convo. Ohio St lost in the 2nd to the last week in 2007 after getting worked in the title game in 2006 and still (albeit with help) made it to the title game.

I guess I'm alone in this, but I have a limited amount of fucks to give in general and I'm surely not wasting any of them on the B1G. They don't wanna recruit Ohio..good, fuck them. Let the talent go to the University of Ashley Judd. All I want is an Ohio State that looks like '95 Nebraska year in and year out...I couldn't give less of a damn if Purdue, Minnesota, and most especially those sanctimonious fuckstains up north have a "strong team".. Fuck the Big Ten.

I'm 1000% with you. I've never understand the whole conference loyalty thing. I don't give 1 rat fart about any other B1G team that isn't OSU, especially not scUM. I honestly don't care about any other CFB team that isn't OSU. I hope scum loses by 50pts, and doesn't win another game. I don't want them #2 when OSU plays them, I could care less if they're unranked so long as OSU curb stomps them by 60pts! The rest of the B1G could go winless as long as OSU is dominant nationally every year

I'm all for emotional arbitrage. I just don't want to pay for it.

I'm happy to watch them lose all season long knowing that any game they win gets their hopes up, only for the crushing.

No matter, in the end, as long as they get fucked, zero fucks for them are given.
