Florida and Alabama could?rule the SEC for years to come - Stewart Mandel - SI.com

One of the main reasons the SEC has long been perceived
as the nation's preeminent football conference is its depth
of quality programs. The most concrete evidence of that is
the fact that the same two teams have not met in the SEC
Championship Game in consecutive years since 1994.

Something tells me that drought is about to end.

I disagree. Everything is cyclical. UF will remain a powerhouse, but Tebow is just a beast, plain and simple. I'll be very interested in seeing how Meyer adapts his offense once Jesus is gone. Alabama's road becomes significantly harder when LSU has a respectable QB too. I just don't see a dominance like there is in the PAC 10 or Big 10...too many talented teams, with great recruiting bases to pull from.

Actually, Bill, I think it is more of a next year thing, and after that all bets are off. So I agree with you.

If Tim goes this year, and Brantley goes down at the start of fall practice, we are essentially done, now that Cam has decided a used laptop is more valuable than being QB on a national contender.(i.e., the Ryan Perileaux choice)

Something tells me that regardless what Tebow does, 99% of NCAA teams will still have trouble defending against Florida's backs.

This game is a toss-up. It should be close and down to the wire. Who will win? I have no idea. But, I can almost guarantee you that a +9.5 spread is way too high. That's why I'm throwing down on 'Bama.
