We were trolling. I was using a silver/chartreuse Doctor spoon, 12lb. test Maxima line.
And yes, they put up a great fight, even after they are in the boat. Toothy critters. Also known as the Water Wolf. They have no sense of humor.

that’s not that different from what we use for redfish.
they tend to love gold spoons down here.
especially in marshy areas.
i typically use 17lb test.

Well... Some shit has interrupted my fishing time overall but got out this am for a few hours. Tried for 90 mins or so looking for #6, he didn't want to be found.. but it's all good.

spent the 4th on the water with my dad.
been a couple years since it was just him and me out in a boat.
once again, if the law allowed for slightly smaller trout, we would have easily limited out. but still came home with a pretty good haul.
and was able to give my mom a couple bags of her absolute favorite fish (speckled trout).
