I preferred a plug of Levi Garrett.I bought some of my first fishing stuff at that store. But first I always grabbed a pouch of Work Horse at the Duke station.

Loved seeing that Perch in your mess. I haven’t had the pleasure of fishing for Perch in Lake Erie in many a year. There’s some good Perch fishing on Lake Michigan near us and we just got a boat late last year so I’m going to have to give it a shot.
Well, i mean.... Last time we were just dragging them on regular medium rods because we were in about 20-25 feet of water and we were pinging fish in about 10 feet off the bottom... So, no high tech geniusing needed. If is not our preferred method, but there just wasn't enough wind to get our cast and drift routine going without it being just a shit load of work.
We dont set up for deep trolling much, we don't use planers, downriggers or any of that shit. Most we do is set up 4 trolling rods strait from trident rod holders.... Or have two on the outside and hold two in the middle... Then its a question of trolling weights (there are estimated charts for this stuff) and once in awhile dipsey divers. But for us to troll slowly enough its almost an into the breeze kind of run since we don't have a trolling motor so we don't get precise with speed. (Its literally take 7.4 mercruiser out of neutral and try to go slow)
If its breezy, we just use the wind and weapon rigs and cover water that way. But we had 5 fish in a couple hours, so we decided to see what else might work.
