No, I try at least one cross a game thinking EA actually did their job and fixed it. It all stems back from FIFA 11. Anytime a higher ranked player would play you, their crosses would be so money, they couldn't be defended. Even if you had a player covering the player in the box, no dice. So they made it incredibly weak now. You can't be sprinting, or the ball will land on top of the net. But if you don't sprint, the RB/LB will eat you alive and start a counter attack.

Oh well, I love how dynamic they've made the attack up the middle this year. SO much fun taking HUGE rips at the top of the box with Ibrahimovic. 80% it goes in or slams the crossbar (which is still pretty sweet).
Oh, I get the crosses off and send them into the box. It's just that there always seems to be a center back there to intercept. Maybe it's a trade off for having pass assist turned on? Anyway, I crush it up the middle, but I need to figure out some way to spread the defense on the wings. Especially when playing league games. These teams just pack it in, and I'm really struggling with possession.

Always play w/teams with speedy midfielders. Playing with Spain's national team is money. Jesus Nevas isn't even a substitute (a reserve), but I always have him in my starting 11.

I usually run a 4-1-3-2

Arbeloa, Pique, Puyol, Sergio Ramos
Xabi Alonso
Jesus Nevas, Cesc Fabregas, Iniesta
Torres David Villa

David Silva comes in around 65-70th minute for Fabregas, Xavi for Nevas, and sometimes, I'll bring in Mata for Iniesta, just for more speed.

I'm able to get crosses off (against the CPU at least, I don't play online), but even when there's a guy open on the back post it's headed away by a defender who isn't even really marking him standing 8-10 feet in front of him. To me it's kinda like the super linebackers in NCAA 12. It would annoy me more if my game relied on sending in crosses from the wing.

When I want to add some width to the attack, I carry the ball to the right or left edge of the penalty area. Keep your eyes open for a trailing run right up the middle by one of your midfielders - if you can hit a backwards thru ball at an angle to the top of the penalty area, that midfielder can run onto it for a wide open shot. Sandro is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the game because he makes this run. He's a CDM, but he makes better runs off the ball than attacking players like Modric or van der Vaart.

Also, I'll take some long shots here and there to keep a CPU defense honest if they're packing it in. I don't know if they actually adjust to that, but it seems like they do. After not having much success with those shots at first I've been able to knock a few in. You'll get a lot blocked, but I've become better at knowing when I have a window to shoot thru even though I can't see it very well thru the press box camera angle. At the very least, once you get that first goal even the most disciplined CPU defense will usually start taking a few more chances.

If you play with Chelsea, Ramires makes some REALLY nice runs up the middle as you were saying. I've gotten some pretty spectacular long range goals out of him.

Or even if you have good attacking defenders (Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva, David Luiz).

Not sure why you guys are having problems with crosses. It is harder than what it used to be, but it's not impossible. I'm probably scoring about 20-25% of my goals from crosses. It's about how far you put the cross in, the back line position, and where you place the cross. This one just happened from Robbie Rogers to my Be A Pro, MAC!!!

Well I lost in the semi's to The Dynamo in the 115th minute of the first year in my player/manager career on World Class. I lost 4 games during the season, and tied 6, won the rest. I had dominated Houston in scoring chances, shots going just wide, etc. just couldn't finish, and it bit me in the ass because I was pushing for a goal in the extra time.

I turned the game off before I got the offseason. I really want to leave the crew and get some better talent to play with and against. We'll see when I get home from work
