Flat out a ball player and I love watching him play. I am likely one of "those" being thrown in here...the staff knew Zach could potentially contribute here but also knew that 2 for the price of 1 is a no-brainer. Regardless of the conditions Zach came in on, it is obvious that he is going to be a fan favorite for good reason.

Zach will be our four-year starter at fullback, and will likely end up as one of the best overall OSU fullbacks ever. No H-back. No tailback. No linebacker. No defensive end. Straight-up fullback. Period.

I was at the spring game... (what thunderstorms?).

anyway, #44 seemed to be saying, "I am playing Fullback. Period!"

I don't know if he should try to jump over tackles (the next time he might get his cup shoved up his @$$) but he loves what he's doin'

that's all I'm sayin'

When first written, I thought that there must be an unspoken condition that we were judging him by the era in which he plays. Certainly Mili didn't want to compare Zach to the fullbacks who played when the position was featured (Jim Otis); or even the fullbacks who played when the position was featured in the red zone (Henson, Johnson, et al).

After Saturday, it's probably too early to say he'll be in the discussion with Jim Otis; but it's not too soon to say he'll be in the discussion for top-5 all-time. This season will be the first time in a long time when opposing teams get rectal cramps whenever a dump-off pass goes to the fullback.

I agree that it's an apples-oranges comparison. The position has changed so much over the years. I think the appropriate points of reference right now would be guys like Sualua, Keller, Martin & Joe. I can definitely envision him ending up at the head of that group.

People always say package deals never work out. I disagree. I think it was totally worth it let his fat, lazy older brother transfer in to get a fine player like Zach on board.
