FB/LB Adam Homan (official thread)

FB huh? I do seem to recall somebody getting called out for thinking that was a very real possibility  All jokes aside though I am glad to see yet another stud added to this class and especially one who really wanted to be a Buckeye more than anything. I could still see Adam playing DE though and it will be interesting to see how he develops. Welcome aboard Adam!

Big speed. Important thing is that he is a Buckeye now. We'll worry about a position later. :)

Lol it's all good man. I agree anyways...if there was ever a definition of Big Speed, Homan fits it regardless of where he may project right now.

Buckeyes land another Homan

Ohio State picked up its fifth commitment for its 2009 recruiting class. Adam Homan, younger brother of current Buckeyes linebacker Ross Homan, picked Ohio State over Illinois.
"I didn't see any reason to wait, because I had already accessed my schools and Ohio State was the best place for me," said Homan, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound fullback from Coldwater.
As for his brother's influence, "Yes, that made a little difference because he's been there and can show me the ropes."

All in the family: Homan commits to play football at Ohio State with brother
Junior was mainly a linebacker on Coldwater's state title team; might be a fullback for the Buckeyes.

COLDWATER ? Planning for fall Saturdays in 2009 got a lot easier for David and Alice Homan. Their son, Adam Homan, gave his verbal commitment earlier this week to play football at Ohio State University. His brother Ross is a sophomore linebacker with the Buckeyes.

"Both sides of my family are huge Buckeyes fans. Everyone is pretty happy for me," said Adam. "They don't even question whether I'm going to commit or not (to OSU), it's when are you going to commit. I have a great support system here."

"It was just a matter of feeling it out, taking it in and seeing if this was the place I wanted to go," said Homan, whose first cousins are former Buckeyes Bob and Tom Hoying.

"Obviously, with connections to my brother, I got a lot of information that way. I figured this was the place I wanted to go. ... Just the tradition they have there. Football is everything. Watching Script Ohio before the games, that's one of my favorite parts about Ohio State."

OSU prospects, commits attend football camp

With fingers clinched around the ball, Coldwater High School senior running back Adam Homan takes a swing pass down the right sideline.

He makes the defender miss.

Instead of running for a touchdown, he slows to a stop while a coach yells, "Nice. Way to get around the edge."

Like a sponge, Homan is soaking everything in as Ohio State linebacker coach Luke Fickell gives him some pointers.

But this was not an Ohio State football practice; it was the last day of the 2008 Ohio State Senior Advanced Camp and the competition was intense.

"It was really competitive today," Homan said. "It's always good to keep an edge on the competition."

More than 500 high school juniors and seniors from all over the country descended on the Woody Hayes Athletic Center Friday to showcase their skills in front of college coaches and recruiters.

Homan said he believes seeing some of OSU's other recruits such as Painesville Harvey wide receiver Chris Fields and Pickerington Central safety Jamie Wood at the camp shows that this class is very dedicated to sticking together and doing what is best for the team.

"They're showing support already (for OSU)," he said. "We still have another year of high school football and obviously that comes first, but as far as the upcoming years, they've already shown commitment and dedication to the team."

Homan said overall, OSU's camp was great.

He also said the one-on-one drills were the most fun and the coaches hit on some techniques that can be helpful down the line.

"They don't really try to teach you a wide variety but they'll hit on some key points that are useful that you can take back to your team," he said.
