College- Michigan Wolverines (all sports). Just grew up on them and my dad would disown me if I followed anybody else.

NFL- Detroit Lions. Always been a Barry Sanders fan and have followed them ever since.

NBA- Detroit Pistons. Seems like they go through stretches where they really suck or do very well.

MLB- Detroit Tigers. Just remember my dad taking me to games when they played in Tiger Stadium.

NHL- Detroit Red wings. Hockey town baby!!!

Soccer- Arsenal Gunners. Just love the pace they play and started to follow them

Other teams I root for.

Miami Dolphins besides Barry Sanders, Dan Marino was my favorite player.

North Carolina basketball. Just always loved the way they play and all the great players that have been through there.

I was 6, deal with it. Take it up with my folks for not brainwashing me otherwise if it bothers you so much.

obviously as I got older I fell in love with the tradition and everything that went with it.....

So you grew to enjoy three loss seasons, douchebag coaches, and getting owned by Tress. Odd.

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals - it's been very hard to root for them lately cause of the ineptness of the organization...I was born in Dayton, so my dad was a bengals fan, I'm pretty sure when I was like 4 or 5, I was Boomer for Halloween (lulz)

MLB: Cincinnati Reds -basically same reason as Bengals, but I got to go a couple of Reds games when I was very young, grew up watching Barry Larkin, remember as a little kid he was up at bat, and I said "hit a HR Barry" (think of it in a little kid voice and its cute, ok) and he did

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets- just cause it's in Columbus

NBA: None, don't like the NBA, if I had to pick it would be the Cavs tho

College: Duh

am I forgetting any others?

Old enough to remember that the first professional baseball game i saw was at a place my dad called Ducks Park. When he was a kid it had been the home of the Dayton Ducks, but I watched the Dayton Indians beat the Grand Rapids Jets. The Indians pitcher hit a home run in the 9th to win the game.

Now then: Otto Graham, Bill Willis, Gaylord 'Chic"Chighadie, Mac Speedie, Dante Lavelli, Lou Groza, Horace Gillam, Marion Motley, Chuck Knoll, Gene Hickerson... Sunday will always belong to the Cleveland Browns. May Art Modell spend eternity in hell.

Herb Score, Mike Garcia, Bob Lemon, Bob Feller and Sacthel Paige for relief work. Luke Easter, Vic Wertz, Jim Hegan, Rocky Collavito, 80 thousand fans jammed into Cleveland Municipal. If it hadn't been for the damn Yankees those guys would have put some numbers up. The Reds weren't going anywhere so I kept hoping the Indians would somehow prevail... and the Dayton Indians were their top farm team.

Roy McMillan, Johnny Temple, Gus Bell, Wally Post, Smokey Burgess, Frank Robinson, Don Hoak, Ted Kluziewski and on the mound well, that was the problem... Corky Valentine, Herm Weimier, Bud Podbelien, Art Fowler, Joe Nuxhall, they all had a propensity to throw that hanging curve ball or the 85 MPH fast ball in the middle of the plate. Or Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Ken Griffey Sr., Caesar Geronimo, Davey Concepcion, and Don Gullett on the mound. I used to love the Reds, but that all ended with Great American Ball Park.

I picked up on the Packers and the Steelers in the 50s. Both spent the decade getting their ass kicked and I always liked the underdog.

Never really cared for the NBA until Hondo and Siegfried joined the Celtics. If I pay any attention at all today it's to check and see what the Celts are doing.

Bobby Orr and the Bruins made hockey interesting, hated Montreal and they kept winning all the time. I never really had any roots to connect me to the NHL. I do love the Blackhawks Jerseys.

Now I find that I pay very little attention to anything but college football and the NFL if the Browns are on or the college season is over -- so December and the playoffs.

The Buckeyes have become the only team I really devote any energy to. I like all the Big 10 teams, even Michigan. I'm always hoping someone will come along and turn Indiana around. I like the Golden Bears and the old Oregon Ducks - before Phil Knight turned them into a fashion disaster. Like the Washington Huskies and Ralphie in Boulder. I liked the Gators because of their orange and blue, but until recently they usually sucked.

I love the Braves and Cardinals uniforms.

Oh and whoever is playing Notre Dame.

I think that's enough.

If you were a douchebag I'd despise you. Because I literally hate all those teams, most of them a lot.

NFL - Browns. Blue collar, hardworking type city that is Cleveland. Not to big, not to small. Fans are passionate and dedicated. Won't find a fanbase like it in professional football, especially given the teams poor seasons of the past decade or two.

NCAA - tOSU (Football, Basketball etc etc)

MLB - Tribe

NBA - Cavs

Like I said earlier, I'm far less of a baseball/basketball type person. I just never had the connection that I did with football.

I'm all Ohio. Born into a family with extensive love for athletics (Wrestling, Football, Baseball)

I was raised with Buckeye and Browns football, it became a part of who I was at a very early age - much like everyone else in my family (and extended family). Just a deep appreciation and love for all Ohio sports.

My formative years were late 80's early 90's. I remember watching my father break a couple pieces of furniture - 95' & 96' against scUM.

Me and him went to the last game in Muni Stadium & we're at the first home game against the Ravens in '99.

I still see the frustration in his face on Sunday's and especially anytime you see some clips from The Drive, Red Right 88, The Fumble or invoke the name "Elway"...

NFL- Browns. My dad and grandpa had basically raised me to be a browns fan. Growing up in the mid 90's however, I didnt really have a team to root for. Then it was mainly Eddie George and Steve McNair for me. But ever since the Browns came back I couldnt help but root for the team that I was raised to love.

MLB- Tribe- same reason as Browns. I would probably call myself more of a tribe fan than a Browns fan just because of all the memories I have growing up watching Kenny Lofton, Omar Vizquel, and Sandy Alomar.

NBA- not much of a fan, but I will root for the cavs.

College- Ohio State and Ohio University. Before going to OU, I went to almost every OSU home game since 95. Wanted to get away from columbus for a few years and found Athens. Teams have fared pretty well the past few years and I will always be proud to call myself a Bobcat.

NHL- Vancouver Canucks- Always liked hockey, but never had any affiliation with the Blue Jackets. First hockey game ever was out in Vancouver a few years ago. Great atmosphere and great players in the Sedin twins and Luongo, not to mention Ryan Kesler (Ohio State) who may very well be the best player in the NHL this season.

Others:
Seattle Seahawks- Like Vancouver, going to a game out there is great.
Maryland Terrapins- Favorite basketball player growing up was Juan Dixon

"So Mike, why do you like Michigan?"

"Cuz their helmets have wings!!1!11"

Sorry Mike, but I couldn't resist...or could I? :sneaky:

I know the "helmet with wings" gets slammed on here, but I admire it's iconic value. Like it or not, Michigan discovered a lasting image, one that is recognizable by anyone who follows football. It may be the helmet with the greatest instant recognition factor in all of football.

Michigan "discovered" their helmet design like Columbus "discovered" America.
