Welcome back, boys. After last years epic late stretch run, I'm going headfirst into an oncoming 2017. As I've said before, odd number years fuck me over no matter how smart I draft. Then there's always the unforeseen which I have zero control over.

Case in point - our draft order in my yahoo league is determined by points scored in the pre-season by a randomly assigned team. My team this year? The fuggin' Daaaaalphins. Not 18 hours after I was told Miami was the horse to back, Tannehill goes down with a knee injury.

Curses are a thing and yes, they are very real.

I've been doing mocks like crazy lately. In my work league, I've got the 10th pick. I'm not stoked about this. I'm wondering if I should try the 0 RB strategy this year and go heavy on WRs.....but with some of the dummies I draft with, Lesean McCoy might be sitting there at 10 for me.

At 10 and assuming it is PPR, I would have no problem going WR/WR or McCoy/WR. If the guys you are playing with are truly dummies, you may have 2 really good WR to take. Go RB/RB or RB/WR at 30/31.

I like 10 a whole lot more than 1. You get 2 top-ten guys instead of 1 and then some guy at 20.

Two years ago, I got Antonio Brown and Julio Jones at 9 and 12 maybe? Late in the draft I got some guy named Allen Robinson. I won that year and started some old RB for the Saints who hadn't played in 4 years in the championship. Can't even remember his name. The next season (last year,) Brown and Jones were off the board after 4 picks and all three were gone by pick 11 or 12. Of course, last year, I would have scrapped WR/WR and taken David Johnson at 9 but he was grabbed one pick before me.

I guess to undo everything I just said, it depends on who is there but WR/WR in a PPR is a good way to go. There is no one way to do it but if you play with some dummies, that along with the league set up, will clearly show you the way.

Edit: It was Tim Hightower lol.

Half PPR, 3 starting WRs, and 12 man league. If McCoy is there at 10 I'll do a couple back flips and take him. Then I'll need to decide on a 2nd RB right away or WR. I feel like there are enough underrated WRs for me to get 2 good ones at my 3rd and 4th picks if I go that way......but I really like the concept of ignoring RB until round 6 or 7 or so.

You could take McCoy and WR, snag your other 2 good WR at 3 and 4 and still resume your RB drafting at 6 or 7. With 3 WR spots to fill, I'd go for as much quality as possible because WR may thin out quickly and those guys are going to score more (with exception of a few RBs littered throughout) than RB, on average.

I'd rather have stud WR, stud WR, good WR and 2 average RB than stud RB, stud RB/WR and then finish with average WR.

Less risk, too, given that an RB is more likely to get injured (though it is all random) than WR. You have to keep your top picks on the field, best you can.
