F Rodney Hood (transfer to Duke)

Loving isnt going to start from day 1 to begin with, long ways to go with his development. he's much like LaQuinton Ross, good 3 point shot, needs work everywhere else

i could forsee a starting lineup in 2013 of

Craft
Thompson
Hood
Ross
Williams

Lenzelle smith playing 1st man off the bench, 4 guys in the starting lineup over 6'7? scary. As much as i like Smith, Thompsons potential is just soo much higher and too high to keep him on the bench especially when he's 6'7 with a 7'0 wingspan (IIRC)

I heard that he is going to be released of his scholarship so he should be able to play next year if that is infact the case.

Being released from his scholarship just means that he can transfer. Unless he shows special cause to the NCAA, he would still have to sit a year.

Rodney Hood, a 6-8 wing from Meridien, Miss., started 29 games for Mississippi State as a freshman last season and averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He shot 44.3 percent from the field and made 47 of 129 three-point attempts.

Hood has not released a list of schools he plans to visit, but his father, Ricky, told The Dispatch by text message tonight that Ohio State is one. No dates have been scheduled. Hood's other two finalists out of high school were Florida State and Louisville, so he may reconsider one or both of them.

Hood is a former AAU teammate of Ohio State freshman LaQuinton Ross.

Hood seems like a good kid. Says something that a double-legacy (both parents played hoop at Mississippi State) now wants to get out of there. I'm not sure what Rick Stansberry's problem was; always thought he was a better coach than the media claimed.

Hope we get both Hood and Gill. But 2012 will be a bit of a lean team - maybe everyone clamoring for more PT will be more satisfied.

OT: there's a great restaurant in Hood's home town of Meridian that has been in continuous operation since 1870 called Weidman's. Their bourbon cream pie and black bottom pie are to die for.
