Minny can definitely develop into a Top 25 program, no doubt about it. You can win anywhere in basketball, that's a fact. The two big hurdles are always admissions and the head coach, so to think Minny has to expect "being Minny" is a little absurd to me.
Look at programs that rake in the big time talent that aren't what we'd imagine as "major" basketball schools....UNLV constantly brings in major talent, Marquette, LSU has a fantastic class this year, Arkansas, WVU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, etc. While some of those schools have history with basketball success, some don't. Maybe I'm old because I remember Minny having Bobby Jackson and being a Final Four team with Clem Haskins at the helm.
They play in the Big Ten, they're close enough in proximity to recruit Chicago and have done a pretty good job of it lately, and they've had pretty steady recruiting classes lately.
You can win in Minnesota and win big, all it takes is the right hire.
