Ex-LSU QB Ryan Perrilloux (official thread)

For what its worth, and I of course have no connection to RP or the LSU program, it seems rather absurd to conclude that RP is anything more than the misfortunate holder of a counterfeit bill. Who knows how many bills of this nature any one of us have unknowingly passed.

And, if I did pass one, and the cashier "caught me" Id surely expect some Federal folks to come ask me just where I got it... etc.

If the allegation was that RP is sitting in his basement carving out metal plates of a 20, then I'd be worried if I was an LSU fan. This story seems to me to be akin to the Hawk Magold break-in. Some questions about "Why they hell does he have a shitload of cash in his house" but no actual wrong-doing.

You don't hire a lawyer over one accidental counterfeit $20 bill. I mean that really could happen to anyone. I've actually seen someone get "busted" (by busted I mean realize they had one) for a counterfeit bill and no federal investigation happened.

It is my belief, urr, hope, that he is being "investigated" so that the feds can get info on a much bigger "fish". Perrilloux, it would seem, is just a pawn in this. I've seen someone get busted (wife is a banker) with one bill, and, though it wasn't serious, they were indeed "investigated", at least questioned. I think the investigation was going on long before RP became involved, and I hope he cooperates and gets out of this mess.

RP is attending classes at LSU today, (and yesterday), so I don't think anything serious is going to come out of this.

I suppose you probably are right. But then, I think that's what the employees at Enron thought when Ken Lay rocked up to work near the end, eh?

From an ESPN article about Chase Daniel:

Later that summer, while attending the Elite 11 QB camp in California, Daniel met Perrilloux. They didn't exactly hit it off.

"I was so tired of hearing him run his mouth," Daniel says. "He was like, 'I'm the best at everything,' so I challenged him."

"Let's run a 40-[yard dash]," Daniel said to Perrilloux in front of all the other campers. "Back up your talk."

They raced and Daniel said he beat Perrilloux by two yards. The Louisiana QB said he slipped and asked for a rematch after he put his cleats on.
"Next time I beat him by a yard," Daniel said with a smile.

That kid's a headcase, as has been discussed in the previous seven pages.
