I'll do it for a year. Nobody will ever hire me after that, but it's a pretty decent paycheck, so I'll take my abuse like a man.

Well.. I had to go back 5 or 6 pages to dig up this thread. Our defenses woes are just as much Everetts' responsibility as it is Luke's and so therefore, I also think Wither's needs to go as well. Hire Heacock or Pagac and bring in Spielman to coach the linebackers.

When it comes to Herman tonight it's more disappointment since you know he's a great coach, but when it comes to withers and coombs (and maybe fickell), this wasn't an isolated event. It was about 15/25 games we've played very poorly, particularly the secondary. I hate to call for coaches heads, but this isn't really a reactionary impulse from one game. This is 1.5/2 seasons worth of disappointment.

He is the safties coach, billed as a guy who boosts interceptions everywhere he goes. I understand we lost Bryant, but not having Vonn Bell ready to roll/the play of our safties has been pretty terrible. I won't say anything else after this about coach Withers, but, he is more to blame for the play of the secondary than LF. Just my IMO, IMO.

Something to think about that is different with EW than Fick is that EW was actually hired by Urb. Fick was retained. I think that is important to keep in mind. May be a subtle difference but it's something to think about with regards to any staffing changes down the road. Almost like an AD and their relationship to a HC they didn't hire. May be nothing but I just find it interesting to consider.
