[REMOVED] - yet more to the story. Some overlap here from the Deadspin article, but more screen grabs from twitter accounts, etc. since lots of stuff is getting deleted. But it's the internet - nothing is ever deleted.

Stop posting links to Awful Announcing people! :grr:

Whoops. I didn't know there was an issue with AA. Sorry 'bout that.

Posted about this yesterday a couple pages back. Either AA is hacked or it's being picked up through one of their ad partners, but I've now pulled three different alerts for three completely different trojan installers off that domain in the past 24 hours.

Hypothetically speaking, if I clicked both links on my work computer...would it be likely to cause a big enough problem to cost me my job?

I only ask because if I were to do that, and I was going to lose my job, I'd want to go out on my terms. Hypothetically speaking, of course.

I added a text replacer to break any links posted here, so we're all good. If anyone finds out the issue was resolved, it can be reversed.

If there were a keystroke logger or some-such being run which in turn allows the malware author to get username/password pairs to resources on your company network ... perhaps.

I've visited the Awful Announcing [dot] com site before and know it's legit. Just to be clear, I don't think it's deliberate. More than likely something snuck its way into their ad network or another partner.
