ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

There are increasingly diminishing returns with ESPN. When I signed up with FuboTV last year the base subscription included ESPN, ESPM2, ESPNNews, ESPNU, and the SEC and ACC networks. Now it’s ESPN 1 & 2 with no subordinate networks — they’re now all in a premium sports tier, which I will not subscribe to without Big Ten content.

ESPN is being marginalized by the hour, and this is evident if you’ve listened to Disney quarterly earnings conference calls for the last two or three years. People are dropping ESPN like it will give you cancer and AIDS in your dick since 2019.

I hear you, I really do. But the only other American major sports network is Fox Sports, and they ain't close. Yes, I'm sure a number of people will cancel their ESPN subs, but many businesses won't. I personally don't have ESPN, as me and the wife decided to get the bare bones cable plan, and just stream sporting events. That may be the future for many households, but no business is going to risk that, and will continue their subs.

So, ESPN's declined the pay $380M/yr to broadcast the B1G......

Ok. They've been bleeding cash for a few years and that's a lot of money......

Do not forget that they're paying the NFL $2.6B/yr (that's BILLION...with a B.....) for Monday Night Football. They're also paying Troy Aikman and Joe Buck a combined $33M/yr just to call the MNF games.

They're paying roughly 7 times more for the MNF rights than what the rights to broadcast B1G games would have cost them. Do they get 7x the viewers for their investment? I'm guessing not....

So ESPN GameDay is going to be in Columbus for ND-OSU ... and they choose Jack Harlow to be celebrity guest picker ??? My first thought, who is Jack Harlow? Then I find out, and I have to say selecting him doesn't make me interested at all in watching, so I won't be. I would've been much more interested if they actually chose someone to pay some respect to OSU.

Exactly. I had to find out he is a rapper from Louisville with no connections to OSU or ND, but he will perform at GameDay.
Not just a rapper from Louisville, but a rapper from Louisville who got famous via TikTok. I had to look it up. Maybe they are trying to attract teenagers? I wasn’t going to be watching anyhow since the show has been pure garbage for years.
