ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

So I was listening to the Russilo show earlier, and good ol Danny Kannel was on. And Mr. Kannel was asked the 3 HCs in CFB that could turn around almost any program. He said Nick Saban, Urban Meyer and... Jim Harbaugh. GTFOH!

Seems he has done a decent job thus far.
Meyer took a 6-7 team coming off a four-game losing streak including a bowl loss, and turned it into a 12-0 conference division winner while under sanctions, with a victory over its arch rival to which it had lost the previous season, and ending up ranked #3 in the AP Poll (wasn't eligible for Coaches Poll).

The Harbraugh has taken a 5-7 team and has lead it to a 4-1 record so far, losing to the only currently-ranked team it has played. He faces a true test the next two weeks with games against Northwestern and Michigan State. If they win those games, then folks can really start talking about how The Harbraugh can turn programs around...

Simmons, Cowherd, Whitlock, Former ESPN Stars, Will Not Stop Ripping The Worldwide Leader

Bill Simmons kept quiet for most of his summer hiatus. The Sports Guy was famously and somewhat unceremoniously let go from ESPN before landing a lucrative gig at HBO. His new partnership includes an upcoming television show, but his podcast seems, as of now, independent of that deal.

Simmons also explained on Wednesday at a Vanity Fair event in Los Angeles that he still has to figure out where he’s going to be writing.

Since his time with ESPN formally expired—in other words, since his last check from Disney cleared and he officially became a “former” employee—Simmons has pulled no punches calling out the Worldwide leader on a myriad of topics, most notably the network’s handling of the DeflateGate scandal. Simmons spent time on multiple podcasts in his first week launching the new show going at ESPN’s coverage of the scandal, not to ignore his commentary on Twitter over the last few weeks.

This, from the Vanity Fair event, extended the conversation yet again:

On Wednesday, Simmons renewed his criticism of his former employer, saying that he “absolutely” believes ESPN avoided overtly criticizing the N.F.L. “The way ESPN has covered the N.F.L. for the last year has been really shaky,” Simmons said. When it comes to coverage of Ray Rice and Goodell, he said, “You didn’t really see it on ESPN. You saw it everywhere else. You start to say, ‘Wait a minute, this is their biggest partner. Are they holding back a little?’”

Oh I think we can give anyone more than a year to measure the full amount. Not saying he's Meyer, but his track record isn't LOLs-worthy.

It is when he's being mentioned in the same breath as Meyer and Saban. Both with multiple NCs and put a large number of players who are doing quite well in the NFL

Ok. I guess I don't see the statement as something outlandish.
For me it was outlandish when Kannel was asked to name 3 coaches in all of CFB, and Harbaugh was the third name he listed and he's been there for a whopping 5gms. Gotta love ESPN hyping the hell out of the guy, kind of like they have the SEC for years...

I know people like to make fun of it, but he did pretty well at his previous gigs. The 49ers or a shit show until he arrived and Stanford was revitalized. I don't know if he's going to flameout or not but his track record thus far is pretty good.

Good enough to be compared to 2 HCs with multiple NCs, multiple conference titles and at multiple schools? And he was picked out of all the coaches in America, I'm not taking anything away from Harbaugh, but until you win an NC(and a recent one, OBC is not close to an elite coach anymore) you can't be mentioned in the same sentence as either Saban or Meyer
