ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

As Herbstreit just said, in the closing seconds of the NC loss to FSU, this will go down as one of the most glorious years in the history of the SEC...

They are really in damage control over there. SEC has really been exposed in the post-season.
Exposed? Their bowl record speaks for itself and yeah they lost the two BCS games but looked pretty solid last night.

This is clearly the weakest the SEC has been in years. Their bowl record is wins against:

7-6 GTech
Rice
Miracle win against DOOK
7 pt struggle against Iowa (who is in the B1G, which automatically means they suck....or so I've been told)
Wisconsin -Stave
Oklahoma State
Houston

Theres like 1.5 impressive wins there. Coming from the conference who jerks off over SoS more than any other, that's weak as shit. Then factor in Florida being absolute garbage along with Georgia again being down, aTm declining from last year, Bama being a little weaker but still really good......

This was a down year for SEC standards.

It might be a weak year by SEC standards but they are still the strongest conference from top to bottom and it's obvious after the bowl season. How anyone could view that as exposed is beyond me. Yeah, Alabama lost and Auburn lost in a close game in the MNC. If that is what folks are hanging their hat in as weak, well that's weak sauce.

People put too much stock in bowl results. The ACC won 2 BCS games and almost knocked off aTm. Were they a strong conference? Bowl performance might suggest it.

They were down. It was obvious all year.

once again they were guaranteed the cushiest spot among one loss teams, and not just one but all three top spots. Auburn being handed the #4 spot before winning the final two was my favorite, especially when Sparty was simultaneously just barely part of the top ten.

Bristol has done a marvelous job selling their conference, because on the field Sparty would have stolen the manhood of both of those offenses last night. we are told that is the way it should be because of how much greater the sec is but the reality is Auburn, Mizzou and Bama are merely good teams.

Weak is that the SEC doesn't play much defense anymore. I wouldn't say this year's OSU team was one of our strongest despite starting 12-0, because our D was mediocre at best...the same could be said for most of the SEC.

That's fine. They probably are merely good teams. But they are slightly better than most of the good teams elsewhere as their bowl record indicated. Again, I fail to see how aauburn and Alabama's showings indicate that the SEC isn't still the strongest conference. I've no doubt that FSU was the best team in CFB but that doesn't change the top to bottom quality.

And I thought S-E-C fans said some dumb things.

Man, I hate the S-E-C love something fierce, but I think those who claim it's not the best conference in the US aren't being very objective.

Congratulations on your captain contrary victory over fictitious jwinslow, who was the only version of me discussing conference superiority.

Sparty would have broken the terrified Winston except they would not have let him come up for air. The pressure would have never left and their stellar secondary would stay disciplined down field.

I just don't know which Cook shows up.
