On the radio last night going home, the talk show I was listening to (some local guys with basically open forum) were talking about something sports and kept referring to the 4 Letter network when talking about ESPiN. I was :lol:.

I watch some of the live games/events which simply aren't available elsewhere due to ESPN's seeming monopoly, but NONE of the additional fluff they fill the channel(s) with. Ugh...

Would love to quit them entirely, but they hold too much of a lock on live sports game/event programming often.

Jason Whitlock says he wants to start some sort of website (via ESPiN) employing young minority journalists or a black-friendly version of "Grantland".

I don't know why, but it seems like everything Whitlock does, writes, says involves some sort of race (but he says he's not a race-baiter).

Leaving FOX is really not that much of a loss to FOX, IMO. But I guess it could be viewed as one (I don't know).

Would love to see some white journalist apply there, get denied because he's not a minority, and then sue the shit out of Whitlock...

I read from a media critic that ESPiN is putting Kenny Mayne back on "SportsCenter" as an anchor.

I stopped watching "SportsCenter" years ago, but that seems like a reaction move to Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole, because I don't think Mayne has been a regular anchor for a while.

If it could be done, it might take years to siphon viewers away from "SportsCenter" though. Some people have been watching that show for upwards of 20 years. But it could be done (FOX News did it, in a way).
