Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

I think it's a little exploit-y. My opinion on that is based on the fact that you couldn't do anything quite like that in a previous TES game, while Bethesda won't patch it out of the game and will refer to that aspect of the game with a wink and a nod, you likely won't see that capability in the next TES game. To me it's kinda like the constant effect weapon absorb health weapon enchantment in Morrowind, or the 100% chameleon enchantment in Oblivion.

That's not to say that I'm against it - quite the opposite actually. I did each of those things on the old games, and I plan to eventually stack my abilities for super enchantments in Skyrim. After finishing the quests, the pursuit of making my character invincible is one of my favorite parts of the game.

Yeah, every TES game seems to have some kind of semi-game breaking mechanic that can be utilised to make combat a complete joke. It's not really an exploit as it always involves legit game functions and abilities, but it does make the game easy mode for sure. I imagine even if they prevent using alchemy and enchanting together in this fashion for the next game, there will be some other mechanic you can spend endless hours farming to achieve an unbreakable character.

No Skyrim DLC on PC Until Late May at the Earliest (gamespy)

LINK

Bethesda promised big Skyrim surprises are coming in April, conjuring images of DLC adventures to dance in this Dovahkiin's head. Alas, adding today's announcement of Kinect support (why push buttons for Dragon Shouts when you can actually scream them at your telly?) with the unfortunate Xbox 360 exclusivity agreement I'd forgotten all about, it appears PC gamers won't get their first Skyrim DLC until late May at the earliest.
...

The whole "exclusive to Xbox 360" thing reminded me that, way back in August 2011, Bethesda announced that it would pull a Fallout with Skyrim DLC. The first two pieces of content will be released for Xbox and Xbox alone "at least 30 days before it's available anywhere else."

I found my interest waining a little bit when I was trying to do every single miscellaneous quest there was. "No sir, I'm not interested in taking a letter to your father who is halfway across the map. For a potion of full stamina, it's not worth it."

It's probably been a solid month since I completed something on the main story line. But the theives guild was incredible rewarding and I think I'm going to like the College of Mages too. That's where I'm headed next.

Call me racist - but every single Argonian scares the hell out of me. Their bright yellow or red lizard eyes and their scratchy voices.....ugh.
I think I have a bounty of 200 gold in Riften because some lizard bitch was freaking out on me, gave me a lexicon and I felt as if I had no other choice but to set her on fire. It simply had to be done.

I'm not a big fan of Argonians or Khajiit myself. I'm glad that Skyrim has relatively few of them. I'm not looking forward to the day that they decide to set a TES game in the Black Marsh or Elsweyr.

The main thing I've left unfinished in Skyrim is the Dark Brotherhood line. Haven't started it actually. I haven't touched the game in about a month. We're about to move, so I don't have time to play anything except in short bursts - so I've been playing a lot of FIFA instead. I'm hoping we can get a proper den set up in the new house (with a second TV for gaming and a recliner) before the DLC comes out.

That's the problem with Skyrim: unless you have at least a few hours to burn it really isn't worth jumping in because you can't get much done.

I have started the Dark Brotherhood quest line and plan to finish it, but I haven't had time to play for a week or two- especially enough time to get anything meaningful done.

I've finished all the major storylines except the war. I'm thinking that one might not be as much fun to do at the upper levels - too easy - and I might start a new character for it. Is the questline involved enough to be worth it?

No, but you'll probably end up feeling obligated to play it anyway just like I did.

Some of the best videos on Youtube are guys figured out how to spam 100's of cheesewheels down the "Throat of the World" or set up a Battle Royale in the middle of the plains. Alduin vs. 100 Archers vs. 50 giants.

Ive actually lost interest in this game. Sad.

I did too. Built a new PC just for Skyrim and wound up getting back into WoW after Blizzard's big Christmas sale instead. Since late-December I haven't touched Skyrim once. In fact, I don't think I've even launched Steam in over four months.

I felt Skyrim got way too repetitive too quickly, plus Bethesda pretty much gave the finger to PC gamers with this TES release as the menus were near unusable without analog joysticks. I spent more time fighting the maps and menus than I did monsters and got sick of it.
