Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

The nice thing about PC is the mods though, and there were some very nice mods that cleaned up the menus and made them more streamlined/user friendly. The cool thing was that the community made the menus prior to the release of the toolkit. The downside is that Bethesda took WAAAAAY too long to get the toolkit released imo. I had already finished the game completely twice by the time it was released. Most of the mods I installed were made by players prior to the release of the toolkit. For me the Elder Scrolls universe is just not as entertaining as their Fallout universe, coupled with the fact that it has less of a replay factor...Skyrim didn't live up to the hype for me. Great game, fell a little short of expectations though.

New DLC: Dawnguard. It's announced for the X360 but I'm sure the PC and PS3 versions will be available as soon as the exclusivity agreement is reached.

Dawnguard becomes available next week (6/26) for Xbox 360 users. The rest of us will have to wait at least 30 days. Crossbows and vampires n shit.

My wife is out of town thru the end of the weekend, so I might be playing some Skyrim again for the first time in a while. Still need to do the Dark Brotherhood stuff.

I played for a large chunk of today after not players any video games for a few months. I bought the house in Markarth and am about halfway through the College of Winterhold quest line. So far I am really enjoying it- more than the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood to this point.

I got done with the Dark Brotherhood stuff last week. That quest line was super lame. It was really satisfying to kill that fruity little jester though.

I wish they'd ditch the Dark Brotherhood cultists and bring back the amoral Morag Tong from Morrowind. In reading TES message boards though, it looks like I'm in the minority with that sentiment.

I believe I have finished all but 5 of the available quests at this point (master level training quests) and am simply wandering around aimlessly in some tricked out armor with bad-ass weapons trying to get my magic skills high enough to complete the final 5 quests. I am at level 65 now and am finding it tedious to level up as there are no new scenarios to keep me interested. Anybody else in this boat? I have not downloaded Dawnguard yet as the internet connection at my new house is not up yet and I sort of wanted to wait and see if the consensus was that it was even worth spending $$ on. The whole vampire thing doesn't do a lot for me really, but to be fair, I didn't really know what I was in for when I started playing this game.

The only thing I have left that I really want to do between now and Dawnguard is to get the last few PSN trophies. I can't really be bothered to do it at the moment though.

Since I enjoyed Skyrim, I decided to play Oblivion.

Somewhere along the way, five horses and a unicorn decided they had to be two inches from my nose at all times. I'll have to figure this out soon, but for now, watching them climb onto the roof to follow me is pretty hilarious.

My son just gave me this game to try out since he was done with it for now. I really liked Fallout 3, so he thought I would like Skyrim since it followed the same gaming concept. I played it for about 2 hours last night, and I am currently searching for a tablet in some castle ruins. Pretty fun so far.

Mrs. Katt bought me a 360 yesterday - she realized that, like usual, I talk up a storm but never take any real action - so I can finally play this game.......

.....as soon as my in-laws leave town. :pissed:

I don't know if I'm going to enjoy this game very much. I hate feeling guilty for stealing things.

You didn't make her change her last name too? Fuckin' Bucky. :shake:

Just like real life, she refuses to change her name to match mine.

Late to the party, as usual.

It's been a rough week. Lydia was my go-to partner until some whore of a wispmother killed her for real. I didn't even know it could happen. I finally finished the bitch off and was waiting for her to reappear....nothing. Start back towards where I last saw her and she was facedown in the snow. Dead for good. It was a long-ass walk back to town -- especially with all of the stuff I had her carrying for me. :(

So I grabbed Golldir from his family tomb. He lasted about a day until we ran into my first Centurion, where I promptly sent him to his death. Oops.

People should stop following me.
