Ed "LL" Warinner (Run Game Coordinator FAU)

In a perfect world I would prefer to see Warinner go back to coaching the OL and they terminate Studrawa but any type of move by Warinner would be seen as a demotion. I don't think Kevin Wilson is being brought in here to watch Ed Warinner call the plays. As such, either they work out some way for Warinner to stay involved in the play calling or I expect him to move on...and right now I am leaning towards the latter.

QB: Day
RB: Alford
WR: Smith (on thin ice)
TE/OC: Wilson
OL: Studrawa
DL: Johnson
LB: Davis
CB/ST/Cheerleader: Coombs
S/DC: Schiano

Still leaves room for one more when they expand in April...which as I understand it will be after spring ball.

I think you nailed it Wad.
I'd be surprised if Ed returns.
I wouldn't be shocked if Stud found employment elsewhere, even if Ed leaves.

I agree that Shane McMahon is on thin ice and noted that Kevin Johns was relieved of his duties at IU the other day. Curious timing.
But I do believe Spaulding will return. He is like Zack Mayo in Officer and a Gentleman. He has nowhere else to go.

Do you think Smith would be gone if Fickell didn't take Joker Phillips with him to UC?

10th asst not a done deal
tied to early signing adoption.. and numerous coaches (especially Meyer) not fans

They're not mutually exclusive
they are a package deal the way it is written

There are many primo recruits of ours that we wouldn't have with early signing
We'd have Clark and Sibley... not Martell and ???

Actually I was hoping Joker might get the 10th spot when it became available. Otherwise, the move to UC is a good one for him. Smith's issues with development and "other stuff" has only been outweighed by his amazing job on the recruiting trail. But he needs to start to better develop the kids under his tutelage.

I think I can reply to this. Smith said that he would be staying at Ohio State when Luke took the job at Cincinnati. If you take him for his word, he was not leaving for UC.
The scenario I was thinking was Urban Meyer promoting Joker Phillips to WR coach and Zach Smith moving on to something else whatever that ended up being.

Meyer brought Bill Davis and his years of LB coaching experience on board months before he ended up replacing Fickell.

He did the exact same thing with Joker Phillips and his years of WR coaching experience, which leads me to believe Meyer might have been planning a similar move for his WR coach.

It that was Urban's plan, he should have moved when the iron was hot:wink: I just cannot see Meyer firing Smith. Maybe having a heart to heart with him about another coaching job but not canning him.

With the performance and lack of development on the oline I was kinda hoping Stud would be the one to move on. I would like Ed to stay but understand if the title demotion ( I would assume his pay wouldn't be cut) is too tough to swallow. But let's be honest here, that crap show in Arizona was worthy of someone getting fired (factoring in two seasons of inconsistency ). He should look at being demoted a plus as opposed to the fact Meyer could fire everyone if he wanted.
