Ebola confirmed in the US

http://www.cleveland.com/healthfit/...la_response_is_emotional_no.html#incart_river

Response from ID expert at Metro in Cleveland. What I find interesting about it is that she says "it's based on fear, not science, yada yada yada" but then when asked if the CDC is doing enough, she refuses to answer it straight, but then says it's a bigger problem than they had thought...why is it a bigger problem if the "science" doesn't support that?

Q. Is the CDC doing enough to protect us?

A. It's a very difficult situation and I'm happy that I'm not in charge of the CDC right now. I think decisions are being made as we get more information. I think up until this point in time there was an assumption that we would be able to manage this fairly easily in this country and I think it's become clear that that's not the case and it's actually a fairly difficult process. I think that they are doing the best that they can.

That's reassuring

Well, at least the past few days have taught us to be much more cautious in our conduct around Ebola victims. (Where's that sarcasm font?)

Wonder where I can get me one of them there Ebola-proof clipboards.

And here he is, shown below, helping out the hazmat guys with, oh, some possibly contaminated something-or-other from the plane. Not to worry. He probably had a bottle of purell with him.

 Mankind is doomed. Nature must only be keeping us around for laughs.

They released a statement on clip board man today.

He was supposed to be without PPE as a safety precaution. . . . .

The Idiotic Explanation Why The "Idiot With The Clipboard" Was Unprotected

The airline confirmed to ABC News that the man was their medical protocol supervisor who was purposefully not wearing protective gear.

"Our medical professionals in the biohazard suits have limited vision and mobility and it is the protocol supervisor’s job to watch each person carefully and give them verbal directions to insure no close contact protocols are violated," a spokesperson from Phoenix Air told ABC News said.

"There is absolutely no problem with this and in fact insures an even higher level of safety for all involved," the spokesperson said.

* * *

So - in summary - due to the restrictive vision when wearing an Ebola-protective suit, one member of staff must be sacrificed/exposed to ensure no one trips?

And these are who we are supposed to trust?

The hell?!!!??? :slappy:

Soooooooooooooooo...Did they also say whose job it was to explain to the Ebola virus that clipboard guy was performing a valuable function, and therefore it would be unfair to infect him?

Like I said before: Doomed.
