Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

In fairness, the Bucks last few wins have been pretty tight too. I think we'll be #1, but the votes will be spread out a bit.

I'm not expecting a unanimous #1, but if we are going to start comparing tight games, Kansas had to go to OT at AA and squeaked by Iowa St. Duke lost to a team on the road that the Buckeyes beat by 14 in the same venue. If the Buckeyes win Saturday they will have beaten a team that took down two ranked teams in its last 2 games. With a win Saturday the Buckeyes have as strong a case for #1 as any team in the country.

The Bucks have to beat a scrappy State Penn team on Saturday before they can stake their claim for #1... that won't be an easy task the way they State Penn is playing. The students (and the sit-on-my-hands fans) need to realize that and be loud all game.

I wasn't aware that last night was Duke's first true road game of the season. Now, I understand that they've played Kansas St. in Kansas City and Oregon in Portland, but how in the [censored] does Duke not walk onto an opposing team's campus until January 12, especially given that the college basketball season now starts in mid- to late November?

I'm usually up for a good ol' Duke berating (mostly because of the slobbering from ESPiN) but I wouldn't go harping on Duke with this since their motivation is most likely the same reason Ohio State only played 2 games on the road before Big Ten season started... $$$$$$ Why play on the road when you can schedule teams to play at home, have the home court advantage and make some money while doing so? Also, it was their turn to host a Big Ten - ACC Challenge game since they went to Wisconsin last year (and lost).

At least OSU went to UF the second game of the year, which is not an easy place to get a win.

i think the overwhelming majority of duke's detractors (sans north carolina and maryland fans) don't have an issue with coach k. they may disagree with some of his courtside antics, but i doubt many think poorly of his character or approach. most just hate a handful of the players, most of the fans, but primarily the media machine attached to the blue devils' hip.

Among rats, I respect him more than Chuck E. Cheese, but less than Splinter.
